I used it for fencing and swords instead of rifles.

I bought this bag to carry swords, fencing foils/epees, SCA rapiers and my HEMA feder to practice every week. Just full disclosure that i don't use it for the intended purpose. Most people who fence and carry a lot of stuff either use a bulky golf hardcase or a fencing bag. Most of the ones Ive used are either too small of my longsword or just poorly constructed or made out of bad materials or just uncomfortable to carry. I usually love MOLLE equipment for hiking (i also have a MOLLE backpack thats lasted for years) so I bought he 55inch bag. It's good so far. Better than the bags Ive used that were designed for fencing.

PROS:
-It fits *all* of my blades, including my 50 inch feder longsword.
-along with my blades, it fits all of the following common fencing/SCA/HEMA accessories... extra grips, rubber blunts, rapier guards, gloves, gorgets, pommels, two rolls of duct tape, sword oil, ring belts, belt pouches and a small gambeson.
- the zippers lock. I dont think other fencers would steal any of my stuff, but its nice at big tournaments where there are a lotta strangers and kids running around.
-even with all the gear, its comfortable to carry. It's got two shoulder straps to carry like a backpack and it has padding. I can easily walk around with it, from my car to the gym or the tournament site.
-i can tell it'll last me forever.

CONS
-It does NOT fit a fencing mask. But that issue is fixed with the magic of MOLLE. Old A.L.I.C.E buttpacks 100% fit fencing masks and it's easy to hook a buttpack on.
-there's not much room for clothing or armor. The gambeson (barely) fits but it's not easy to fit a mask shroud/hood, shirt and boots or fencing sneakers. Again, you can attach extra pouches.
-this would NOT make a good team bag. i can only fit enough stuff for myself. I cant fit extra jackets or masks, even with extra pouches.
Nice case

I just received a new 42" black case. When I first opened the package I was pretty happy. It arrived days early...a plus. It was packaged flat and not folded...a plus. It looks good and appears pretty well constructed...a plus. At first I was giving it 5 stars but now I'm giving it a closer look. I read the reviews, knew what I wanted it for, looked at other products, and considered the price. Overall, it's a nice product. The 600D interior upgrades make it better. However, the backside of the interior barrel/stock pockets are not lined with 600D. It feels like thin slick nylon, or some other synthetic material typical of other manufacturers. My concern though is that this surface will be susceptible to tearing...where the barrels and sights insert and rest. That's OK...I can adapt to that. And my divider does not go all the way to the top, though the new cases were supposed to. That's OK. For me, that's not an issue. I only mention it so that newer buyers are aware...if it important to them. Lastly, the padding is pretty thin and firm. As Anthony noted on his review, the firm padding provides for ease in standing the bag. That works for me too. It just seems like it is missing something...like a layer of cushion. The fact is I'm not dragging, backpacking or throwing this case onto a truck bed. It'll serve my need; I like the case; it's a great value.
Great Bag

I work for a police department which issues take home vehicles. Department police requires that we bring in our rifle, shotgun, and computer if we park on the street overnight, which I often do. I was searching for a bag which I could use to carry my rifle, shotgun, magazines, ammo, computer, plus whatever other random things I may bring in (GPS, paperwork, etc).

After trying about three different bags I came across this one and it has served me very well.

The Good:
- the 42" is just long enough for a 870 plus rifle without much more length.
- weapons are separated, there is padding to protect them, and straps to keep them in place
- additional padding throughout gives the bag a bit of rigidity, this allows me to stand it up on its end and lean it against the wall.
- decent amount of compartments for additional capacity of misc stuff, my CF-54 fits in the large pocket, and plenty of room for ammo/mags
- straps/buckles on the exterior to tighten the bag up
- can have it set up as a backpack or use the D-rings to shoulder carry.

The Bad:
- the carry handle is not padded. With all the gear I load in it and haul back/forth to my patrol car it can be a bit uncomfortable to hold on to.
- that's the only thing I can seriously think of.

Highly recommend.
Shoulder strap ripped right off the first time using it.

I must've gotten the only lemon so far. Got it and loaded it up. Has tons of space, I fit my savage msr in, 450 rounds of 556, 250 rounds of 9mm, my silencer and light, and plenty of room left for my two handguns. First time swinging it over my shoulder though, and the shoulder strap ripped right off. Everything else seems great. Tons of space, solid zippers, the other shoulder strap holds up on its own. Will re rate once I get this replaced.
**UPDATE** They called me literally within an hour of posting the review and are next day air mailing me a replacement. I didn't have to do anything. Best customer service I've ever experienced.
Almost Perfect

This rifle bag is by far the best out there at this price point. I could go on for hours about all the good things this bag offers. But I value your time, so I'm going to take a more critical approach to this review and only list the items I didn't like. I also made a 5-minute video review that will go over everything I write here.

I would have liked to see larger zipper security "eye holes." As it stands, they are too small to fit a standard padlock. So you're forced to use a cheap luggage lock that can be easily broken by any 10-year-old with a will to get into the bag. I've found that a standard gun lock will work as long as it doesn't have an exterior rubber coating like many of them do.

I love the backpack straps. They offer a lot of padding, but have one design flaw. The manner in which the bottom of the straps are secured is such that they dig into your hips while carrying it backpack style. I can only imagine that if you were to pack your firearms and supplies around for more than 10 minutes, it would become very uncomfortable. See my video for a more detailed explanation.

I also wish the backpack straps could be easily removed. I'm sure there are a lot of people who will rarely, if ever use the backpack feature, and it isn't easy to remove the straps short of cutting them off completely. They add some bulk to the bag, which wouldn't be a big deal if they could be easily removed. The only way to remove them without cutting them off, is to try to feed the straps through the very small slit in the side release buckle. This is no easy task as the strap is folded at its end, doubling its thickness.

Up to this point, these discrepancies are minor, and won't keep me up at night. The last problem I have with this bag is what made me give it 4 stars instead of 5. When the bag is completely unzipped, it doesn't lay flat when it's open. The zippers don't go all the way around the base corners of the bag, and therefore restrict it from opening completely flat. When I have my rifles in the bag, their weight forces the bag to open completely, putting stress on the zipper heads. I fear that in time, these zipper heads will become bent, and ultimately fail in their function. This is a pretty big design flaw in my opinion, and should have been caught early in the design phase. If it leads to the zipper heads failing, I will certainly revise this review to inform you that I was right in my concerns.

Other than that, this bag is great. It offers a ton of storage in its securable pockets, it has a lot of internal padding to keep your firearms safe and secure, and the material is high-end, as is the build. Like I said before, you will be hard-pressed to find a better bag at this price point. Short of those few concerns, I think this bag is near perfect. See my video for more details.
