The product is a great product. Unfortunately, I got a package which was missing few of the parts, hence I reached out the customer care and they promised to send a new one. I used my own power cords to check how the product functions, and it works like charm. Make sure you follow the instructions and choose the right audio output in your device.
nicely designed converter with lots of options

Love all the options this converter offers. It has a remote and buttons on the unit to change volume and switch from optical input to coaxial input. All cables plug into the rear for neatness and the buttons and status lights are in the front. It would have been better to make the lights larger as they are tiny and dim. It's not a problem for me but I have two Dingsun devices with remote and the remotes interfere with each other, I put tape over the other Dingsun that didn't need a remote and that solved the problem.
so I got this box to decode the digital output of the TV to a couple of nice studio monitors

My TV's audio aux was making weird noises, so I got this box to decode the digital output of the TV to a couple of nice studio monitors.
The sound is good, and I don't notice any latency.
I'm glad I ordered this one with the remote, because my TV's digital output is fixed volume. Before I stumbled on this one, I almost ordered one of those with a knob or without volume control at all. This is inexpensive, and worked for my situation.

Great price, but low volume output and strange remote.

I really had high hope for this one. My Samsung TV only has optical out, and I need to be able to use wired headphones (Koss Porta Pro). The price and functionality seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. However, it turned out to be a disappointment. The maximum volume output is way too low. And to increase or decrease volume on the remote, you have to push several times. The remote range also seems to be quite short. I went back to using my old DAC (does not have a remote) and then bought an in-line volume control instead for $10.
What I like: remote control

What I like: remote control, 192kHz audio, volume control (most digital output from TV or PC don't scale amplitude of digital data, which is just as well since I don't want any modification to digital data until it gets to the DAC), more than 1 year of warranty, all cables (power, toslink) included. No white noise whatsoever, and sound quality seems to be on par with usual built-in PC audio chipsets.
It could've been better if there was some indication/meter for volume level, but no complaints, since it memorizes the volume level when shut off.
Perfect for listening to any of multiple HDMI sources fed into a HDTV without bothering others.
