The software that the device documented to use is PotPlayer. When recording (this is the only function that I used) it skipped, locked up and in general did a bad job of recording. I switched to OBS Studio(Open Broadcaster SoftwareÂ®ï¸ ) which is open source. It does a much better job. OBS creates big files when recording in loseless mode but that can be corrected with HandBrake (also open source), an encoder than shrinks the size of the file.
1080p output looks great, but 1080p60 is disappointing

I'm using this to capture HDMI output from my camera, and display it in OBS. I'm pretty happy with the output quality, but after some experimentation, 1080p at 60Hz looks blurry. It's almost as if the device is downsampling to 720p instead. If using 1080p at 30Hz, the image looks crisp.
