I absolutely love this lighting kit and encourage everyone to buy this wonderful kit. Users will definitely get their money's worth out of this reasonably priced lighting kit, as it is easy-to-use, provides awesome illumination, and is very attractive as well.

The lighting stands are durable, lightweight, and are very easy to set up. There are four adjustable knobs that allow the user to adjust the stand's height, the circumference of tripod, and the position and tilt of the lighting unit itself. The height of the stand ranges from 2.6 feet (31.2 inches) to 6.2 feet (74.4 inches) and can thus be used for a variety of photographic/videographic applications. Mounting the lighting unit is also easy. There is a positioning pin and screw on the mount that lines up perfectly with the lighting unit; once in place, a counterclockwise turn of the adjustment wheel sets the lighting unit firmly in place. Once in place, the lighting unit's position and tilt can easy be adjusted with one of the knobs on the stand.

Each lighting unit uses a 15-volt AC adapter that draws 2.4 amps of current; since power consumption (in watts) is calculated by multiplying current by voltage, that means that each lighting unit uses only about 36 watts of electricity -- far less than the 85-watt fluorescent bulb I had on my other light box. The cord on the adapter is about 115 inches long, or 9.6 feet, so attaching the light to a suitable outlet should not be a problem. Each cord comes with a velcro strap attached as well, so rolling the cord after use and securing the roll is incredibly easy.

Each lighting unit provides all the light you will ever need for a photography or filming session. The brightness of the unit can be manually adjusted between 20% and 100% using the dimmer knob on the back. The color temperature can also be adjusted between 3300K and 5600K, providing either the warm, yellow glow of a halogen lamp (3300K), the cool white glow of a fluorescent (4200K), and the blueish-white glow of the sun (5600K). Each is adjusted using the same knob, and the user can easily alternate between the two by pushing the dimmer knob and then turning it. Each unit is so bright when turned to maximum output that you may only need one for certain applications!

The 2.4 GHz wireless remote is also very useful and easy to set up. The user simply sets the channel on the remote to the channel on the lighting units, and the lights can then be adjusted from afar. The remote uses two AAA batteries, has a nice green display, and adjusts both brightness and color temperature with a ring button. It features a battery level icon, a wireless connectivity button that flashes when a button is pushed, color temperature and brightness levels, and channel icons. I don't know its exact range, but it communicates well with the units from a great distance: I set the lights on one end of my home and went to the other end, and the remote still communicated with the lighting units (my house is about 2,500-square feet). My only complaint about the remote (and this is very minor) is that the battery cover is slightly difficult to remove; it doesn't require any tools or brute force, but a little more effort than I would prefer. Despite this, it is a great remote.

Disassembly is a cinch. All the parts fit perfectly into the pouches and velcro straps in the nifty carrying case that is provided.

This is an all-around wonderful, energy-efficient, and incredibly useful lighting kit that will definitely give the user his or her money's worth and then some. It's actually a steal at the price at which it is offered. I myself will definitely use this kit for many years to come.

This is a great quality, ultra-portable continuous lighting option for the price! I knew that this light is going to be thin and portable when I ordered it, but I was still surprised at just how thin and light it is when I opened the box; it is literally about the size of a standard legal pad (without batteries).

Although it's no match for an Aputure 120D/300D or other larger studio size lights in terms of brightness, it is plenty bright for most situations and pretty impressive for its size--even bright enough to use as a key-light in a pinch (without extra diffusion). The minimal one-knob control panel on the back also makes it a breeze to use. The remote is slightly more complicated than it needs to be, but I really don't see a need for it in most situations so it's no big deal for me.

Power-wise, it comes with a standard power plug, and takes any 2 standard NPF batteries (not included). I have yet to run through the 2 NPF batteries I put in there since I got it (battery indicator still shows 2 bars!), and have gotten at least 3 hours of usage at varying brightness so far. Again, this makes it a great portable option.

More importantly, the color rendering of the LED panel I received is very accurate to the temperature dial, and has no noticeable color cast, even when shooting in LOG. I was able to match it with my much more expensive Aputure lights with no problem at all, straight out of the box, at both tungsten and daylight settings. There is also no flickering, even at 180FPS+ frame rates. Also, there's no built-in fan and does not produce any noise, which makes it great for video shooting.

One design change I wish Viltrox would make is to offer users the option to remove the built-in diffusion panel, which noticeably limits output as well as external diffusion options, but one again, this product was designed to serve as a quick all-in-one lighting source to be used without extra diffusion. And given I was completely aware of this before I purchased it, I see no need to deduct a star for this.

With a light this size, thickness, weight and brightness, there's really no excuse to not keep in your camera bag or backpack at all times. Definitely great buy as long as you're not planning to use it as your primary key-light.

These are amazing lights! They're so easy to prop up and fold down. They're super bright I've used them for everything. I initially bought them for my wedding reception for the Photo Booth and wow they worked amazing! Everyone loved our great they looked under these lights. I also use them for a green screen, tik tok videos, Instagram photos. They come in handy more often than you'd think.

I like that you can adjust the brightness and the hue from warm to cool. I haven't used the remote that comes with it nor bought batteries for them though. I just plug them in and manually turn them on. The carrying case is very nice too and it comes nicely packaged and in a big box. Highly recommend!!

For a photographer like me who is just exploring lighting, this is a reasonable place to start. I got a Lume Cube mini-panel a while ago to use for online meeting lighting. This panel and athe 116 I also bought have all the flexibility of the Lume Cubes with a fraction of the cost. They are not as solidly made, but with some care they should provide good service. I like having the various mount options and the remote. Now to get to work!
