Everyone refers me to someone else for help. Sorry I purchased it. Hoping someone helps me or offers refund.

Good for what it is, some deficiencies, probably overkill for me

I'm often surprised by the size of things when they arrive, but this was one of the few times I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this clock was smaller than I expected. It's *MUCH* smaller than my old iHome clock and now that I look at the picture a bit more carefully, I can see that the thing on top is a phone, and therefore it's about the same width as the length of my phone. That's great. It seems to do a good job charging overnight, and has an additional USB charging port for a second phone, headphones, or other rechargeable devices.
I've got a few issues with this, however. First, it doesn't seem to sync easily to get the time. Basically, this is like a clock radio that charges, not really an integrated appliance.
Second, and more importantly, the clock feature doesn't have an easily adjustable brightness. There's no big button for me to press in the middle of the night to say "what's the time?" and then have it dim again 15 seconds later. So it's too dark to read during most of the day, and at night it tends to be both too bright and not bright enough. (I know, right?)
It's also white light, which I don't like because it's too harsh. I would prefer to be able to change the color, but if I had to choose one, red would be it.
I also don't know how well this functions as a radio, speaker, etc. I've honestly never used those features. I just use it as a charger that's also a clock. It's good for what it is, which is why I'm leaving it at 4 stars, but I'm going to bet that I could find something even more appropriate for my use for less.

Handsome, compact and feature rich.

iHome has a working design and they have stuck with it. My last two alarm clocks from them have had the exact same design with minor changes to layout. This one has the wireless charging and bluetooth connectivity. Overall it is a solid device. Very intuitive. Good options and dimmable time screen. I did not particularly care for the pixellated digits on the screen which I think look goofy. The alarm tones are very cutesy and I prefer something a little more brash to wake up since I usually wear earphones while sleeping for noise isolation. The charging works as expected. On a prior version it would update the time when your phone was connected. It is not clear to me yet how this one handles updating the clock and daylight saving time since there are no settings I can see to adjust that other than manually changing the time. It seems that this one cannot do that with the Qi charging design. Anyway, very good design. Very similar to other iHome clocks which are handsome, compact and work like a charm.
Some Nice Features / Could Use a Few Tweaks

This has some high points and low points and hopefully iHome is listening because with a few tweaks this could be excellent. The set up time to get the basics rolling is fairly simple. You set the year then month then day and finally the time. You use the "+" and "-" buttons for all settings so there is some scrolling. The alarm sets like everything else however you can set it for weekdays (5 days), weekends(2 days) or the full week (7 days). I don't understand why you can't tap the alarm and just have it set for 1 morning. Someone was over-thinking the alarm process in R&D and it was poorly executed. If they could do a firmware update and offer a one touch for one day option it would be much better. The clock is easy to read and I LOVE the 7 levels of dimming feature, you can get it to just the amount of light you like. There is a battery to backup the settings during a power outage.
Pairing for Bluetooth works as intended and is straightforward. For me, the sound quality from the speakers using Bluetooth on a scale of poor to excellent (and I am considering the size) is right between fair and pretty good.
The charging on the top pad is great, wireless charging is reasonably quick and I have had no issues with my iPhone 10 charging each time. The USB charge receptacle in the back should be much better than 1amp, that is pretty anemic and I would think it should be at least double the output if not more.
Quick review of high points:
-Easy to set up.
-Display is easy to read.
-Dimming feature is top notch.
-Battery backup is a welcome feature.
-Qi wireless charging is very easy to use and quick to charge.
And low points:
-Alarm function needs a 1 day/1 time option.
-Speakers could be better.
-USB Plug is very low amperage/charging speed (if you don't plan on using it this is a non-issue).

Works great, very handsome and easy to connect my phone with Bluetooth

I have owned maybe 10 iHome products all of which are essentially iPhone dock/clock radio hybrids. They are overall a solid value that work well and last forever. This one is no different:
Positives:
-Charges my iPhone 8 Plus seamlessly with no cord. Just set it on the top pad.
-Top Pad is a good size meaning I don't have to shift the phone around to the right spot in order for it to charge.
-Icon on the readout that shows (Lightning bolt) when your phone is charging.
-Digital readout is updated and looks very nice.
-Dimming settings show via number on bottom and it has a good number of them. More than previous versions.
-Bluetooth! You don't necessarily need to connect your phone via Bluetooth but any Bluetooth device to listen to sound.
-USB port on back for charging of another device.
-Set-up was fast and easy as it read Bluetooth right away.
-No wasted space. Item is the size it should be
-Works perfectly and as promised.
-Audio and volume is solid for podcasts or voice to fill a room nicely.
Negatives:
-As with all iHome devices in this price range, the sound quality is just OK. It will fill a bedroom (sort of) and quality is OK, but you are probably not buying this because you want the sonically best sounding speaker. Sound is solid for its size
Summary-Great that iHome now has a Bluetooth device and I love charging my phone through its case and just setting it on top. Handsome and nice looking. Works great.
