Great trekking poles

Great quality, super sturdy, already used them and they kept me from falling multiple times on steep mountain side hiking. Love that the locking clasps are metal and not plastic!
As advertised

I haven't used them yet except around the house. Just super glad l got them in a timely manner. I had used another hiker's poles and had to buy these. Made a world of difference.
Built for the trail!

Just hiked/backpacked Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas. Thirty miles in two days, six ascents, tallest being 800'. Multiple river crossings, various terrain, etc. These poles exceeded my expectations!

This is my first set of trekking poles. I picked them up for my wife and I as we do a lot of walking. Much of the time we're on pavement, but we often do power walks on the beach and want to do more hiking off-road as well. The stylish Tiger Paw 7075 Trekking Poles seem like the perfect fit.

This offering from Mons Peak IX is impressive right out of the box. They ship fully compacted and attached via two plastic clips that you can use to store them together. No carry case or bag is included, but that's not a deal breaker. They fit easily in a vehicle's trunk or in mid-sized luggage. I found their aluminum construction to be very lightweight yet with enough heft that they are comfortable to use. Height is adjusted using two lever-locks and easily hand-tighted nuts. Tighten the nuts just enough so that it isn't too hard to snap the lever in place and they stay put when locked even after a long walk. The proper height is where your elbow is a 90Ëš angle when holding the grip. Said grip is ergonomically contoured and made from ultra absorbent cork that stays grippy and dry feeling even when my hand sweats in the humid South Florida summer heat. The integrated strap is adjustable and provides confidence that you won't drop your pole accidentally. Also, having them in hand feels as though they lend to wider strides and thus enhances the workout experience.

The metal spikes on the ends are covered by a removable rubber nibs for flat surface trekking. I wonder how long these will hold up, but so far wear is minimal. They come with "baskets" for snow or sand which I'll definitely be using for beach power walks. There are no instructions for how to adjust the poles and straps or to install the baskets, but it is fairly easy to figure out. There are numbers on the poles for height adjustment, but I guess you need to do some research if you want to use them. I didn't need to.

In summation, these poles are purpose built and look the part. They command respect from others on the trail, and can be handy when encountering unfriendly wildlife (or persons with bad intentions). My wife was bitten by a dog while out for a walk once, and wishes she had the Tiger Paw in that instance. It also isn't uncommon for alligators, coyotes, and snakes to share the pathways in our areas. The 7505 is added insurance in case of such encounters. I would only suggest using them in defense as a last resort however -- it is better to give such creatures wide berth if possible.

Despite their light weight and adjustable nature, the Mons Peak IX Tiger Paw 7075 Trekking Poles are solidly constructed tools for hiking. If you're hoofing it over long distance and uneven terrain, they can be lifesavers.
