First one broke, but replacement is very nice
Thalia✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 5, 2023
EDIT: I contacted Corvo directly through their website, and they sent me a replacement unit. I did actually get the display working again on my old one, but because of that weird popping noise, the customer service rep recommended that I just dispose of it and use the new one instead. The replacement kettle has been working well (no popping) for about a month now. I'm leaning towards the conclusion that my first one was just a dud. Given the customer service and full replacement, this product goes from one star to four for functionality. It does still strike me as overpriced, and the issues mentioned at the end of my original review still keep it from achieving that last star. (Primarily the confusion about how it handles boil-dry protection, and the fact that the body and top of the kettle get quite hot in use.) My final comment/change from my original review pertains to the lack of an audible indication that the water is "ready." I think that stance was too harsh. Sure, it doesn't whistle or anything, but the kettle is actually pretty noisy when boiling, and gets noticeably _quiet_ once it hits the goal temperature. So, there is an indication, it's just subtler than a piercing whistle. I can adapt to that, and even appreciate it, really.

Original Review:
The kettle started making extremely loud popping noises after about a month of use. Sounded like water bubbles vaporizing inside the structure somewhere. My boyfriend wouldn't stand near it because he said it sounded like it was going to explode. I kept using it though, until today the temperature display is totally kaput. There's a jagged line of pixels (which do move around), but no temperature readings. I guess that's where the exploding water was? It does still heat water, but without the temperature control, I'll go back to my little $30 kettle, which has given me solid use for 4 years.
I never immersed either the kettle or the base in water, in case anyone's wondering. To de-scale I simply boiled some vinegar, then ran through several rinses. I did NOT carefully dry off the outside of the kettle after every pour, though, so maybe that's now the water got in? I did frequently top it up and put it back on right away after use. There were definitely a few times that the side of the kettle was a bit wet.
In normal operation, it's also not particularly worth the price tag. There doesn't seem to be any real boil-dry protection, and it doesn't make any audible indication that the water is ready. Which means that if if set it on to boil, and forget you have, it can easily boil dry. I did once see an indication on the display (when I came back to it far too late) that there was "No Water" in the kettle. So, it can tell. Not sure if it acts on that information in any way.
I was so excited to get a fancy kettle for steeping different types of tea, but even if it hadn't broken after three months, I'd say this kettle was only average/about a three star at best. It is pretty classy looking, and the variable control was nice. The pot isn't really insulated, so it would get quite hot to the touch, but the handle is always cool. Because of the short life span, I'm bringing it down to one star. Their website says that they do NOT warranty products sold through Amazon. I've sent an inquiry anyway, and will update the review if they respond to it.
Very nice!

A lot of people get the gooseneck one but that is really only good for pour-over coffee as it dispenses really slowly. This is the one to get if you don't do a lot of pour overs.

This one has the least rubber/silicone in it of any I've found. It is mostly all stainless steel inside, just a tiny grommet in the bottom appears to be silicone. Contrast that with the Zojirushi water boiler I had before, that had a big plastic water level indicator and all of the hot water was pumped through a silicone tube. This kettle is much better in that respect.

It works well and I really like how fast it heats up and that I can dial in a precise temperature based on if I am having green tea, black tea, or coffee, or just want some boiling water fast for making pasta. It just works!

The styling is quite elegant, it has a bit of a bauhaus style which I really like.

If this proves to be reliable (I'll update my review if not), call me a happy camper with this! It is so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
Worked well for some time. updated

The media could not be loaded. The kettle is very pretty and easy to use. Overall great when it works. Sadly a few months out of warranty the power button started acting inconsistently. Looking online this seems to be a common issue. Fellow will sell you a new base for 100 USD. So despite liking it a lot would advise against it.

Update September 2023
Contacted Fellow regarding the base, included a video of the issue. Despite being a year past my warranty period they horor it with very little fuzz. It did impressed me enough to revisit the review (and no the did not request or suggested I do, nor did I mentioned the review to them). YMMV.
Minimalist Aesthetic, Flawless Functionality; Well Worth the Money

I spent months trying to find the perfect electric kettle when I finally came across the Corvo. I had been certain it would be easy to find the perfect solution for
I spent another month or so checking out the company Fellow, their other products, and customer reviews before I felt comfortable to budget so much money toward an electric kettle; I've long since decided that it was absolutely money well spent.

I love everything about the Corvo EKG: its aesthetic, function, and size.

Aesthetically, it is perfect in my opinion. The minimalist design is pleasingly streamlined. It catches the eye but doesn't scream for attention to the detriment of its surroundings.

For its minimalist form, the Corvo EKG is packed full of function considering its one button to rule them all (practically) design. With the exception of the HOLD mode and Fahrenheit/Celsius toggle switches on the back, the front button/dial controls everything with remarkable ease. Press to turn on/off twist to set desired temperature, and press and hold to start a countdown for the built in brewing timer to begin. The HOLD function is great for when I'm wanting to make a single cup of tea but might want another; or, for when I get sidetracked by something and forgot I put the kettle on 30 minutes ago, but I come back to it and it's steadfastly guarded that ideal temperature for me to finally be able to enjoy a cuppa. On the rare occasion that I've completely forgotten the kettle was on, the automatic shutoff feature limits the consequences of my fauxpas to a minimal amount of wasted electricity and water as opposed to a destroyed kettle and possible house fire.

Some may scoff at the size and water capacity of the Corvo EKG; however, considering the speed at which it can attain a desired temperature, this little kettle is more than enough to stand up to the demands of an individual. I use mine for a single cuppa here and there, occasionally to brew a small teapot's worth, and cooking cup ramen in my room/office.

If I could change anything about the Corvo EKG, it would be to incorporate HOLD mode Fahrenheit/Celsius toggles into the single front button in the form of unique button press sequences (ex. Two quick presses toggle HOLD on/off; three presses and a turn of the dial will switch temperature scales)

The only concern I had when purchasing the Corvo was after reading about the difficulty people were having when ordering via Amazon. From the reviews, it seemed as though people were receiving an inordinate amount of DOA kettles. I felt I was rolling the dice ordering through Amazon, but mine came on time and in perfect working order.
The power of the Kettle Gods in manifested form. Praise be Angela Lansbury!

I'm a big fan of tea! If you know anything about tea, you'll be all too familiar with the temperature specifics per type. Yeah, I know! Crazy right? Supposedly there was a large gathering somewhere in west Tennessee (those people are always nutty) where they began to worship and praise to the kettle Gods! The story goes that on November 1st of some year.. There was this woman named Kat, and this cat couldn't meow, nor could she set the precise temperature for her tea she was making while on stovetop. She had to use a thermometer! Like.. Where do you even find those things? Oh.. I guess on Amazon! Isn't it crazy how much stuff you can find on Amazon? Like it's a jungle of produced material stuff that never ends! Anyway, Kat, the cat that couldn't meow, conjured up a bunch of people from her book club, simply because people don't read anymore, so what else are they going to do? I mean, Amazon used to sell books only! Now it's a jungle out there! They knew what they were doing. As I was saying, until my ADD rudely interrupted me, again! They got together, Kat the cat that couldn't meow and her possy of book nerds that don't read books and met somewhere near the Mississippi river to host a séance. And yes, I used a special character in spelling that word because that's what voice command does when I use it in response to not knowing how to spell. After all, I don't read! During this gathering, they lost their fibers and began calling out! "We invoke thee kettle Gods, come hither and grace us with your manifestation"! Lightning struck, and the women screamed! Out from the sky arrived a talking tea kettle just like Angela Lansbury from Beauty and the Beast. She smiled and out poured her magical Fellow Corvo Electric Kettles! Because, these metal objects were falling from the sky quite literally, they injured some of the séancers. It actually turned into a bloody mess so there were some legal matters and settlements etc that the Angela Lansbury soundin' Gods decided just to sale them on Amazon and use that money to contribute to the economy because only is America is the economy number one priority over all things including the well being of others, education, quality of life, etc etc... So here we have it, there's a dial on the side of the electric kettle that sets the exact temperature for your tea, coffee, hot coca, or whatever else you got cookin'!
