DO NOT make the mistake of ordering 1/2" carbide insert holders. With the OEM current set up you will not be able to get the work centerline without major modification to the lath. Purchase the recommended size for the lathe, combined with this rock-solid tool post there is plenty of rigidity to produce some serious chips.
