I got this to go under my chair in my office which has carpet. My chair was digging into the carpet making little fuzz balls everywhere. When this arrived it was rolled into a tight roll. I unboxed it and tried to unroll it but couldn't by myself. I asked my wife for assistance and with the use of a heat gun we were able to unroll it a little at a time. (This is also in the instructions) we would unroll a little at a time and place a heavy weight on that section and move to the next. After the whole roll was done and weighted down we left the weights on for about a week and placed it under my desk chair. It lays flat and allows easy movement of my office chair. Follow the directions and you should be ok. Don't burn or melt the mat with your heat gun.
