As Costco wasn't carrying them this season , I purchased an enormous amount of chestnuts (a 12-pack) for the holidays. I used them in a cornbread stuffing for Thanksgiving and then made both sweet and savory purees which I used in making a pair of buche de noel (yule log) cakes for the Christmas season.
These chestnuts are PERFECT for cooking!!!!!! All you have to do is open the package and they are ready to go for whatever purpose you have in mind. No peeling, roasting or cleaning necessary.

It has been many years since I had eaten chestnuts. I remember a little sweetness to them. these were sweet, the overall taste was good, but i didn't care for the texture. I thought they would be a little meatier, But Like I said it has been years. I was a child, now I am over retirement age. It's a tough comparison.

I purchase these chestnuts every year, usually at Christmas time. I love how much easier it is to use these instead of baking, peeling, and chopping up chestnuts that I put in my turkey stuffing that I learned from my grandmother. Taste great as a snack too!

I don't understand why some people said that the taste is bad. This chestnuts are delicious and I eat them like candy and love them! The only issue is that there's way too little chestnuts in those packages I purchased the 30 packs today and I already ate 2 packs of them other than that great products!
