Easy to program but read the instructions. Some brand of openers need you to change the setting on the remote first but it's simple if you follow the directions.

I have a very old master mechanic garage door opener made by Chamberlain.. all I had was a push switch in the basement. It was there when I bought the house. I thought I'd try to program in a remote control thinking finding a match was going to be difficult.
This item was a breeze to program following the simple videos, with a simple press of two buttons, and in two minutes both of these remotes work beautifully from across the street!

The other reviews are correct. The design of the clip is bad. While trying to install it by forcing it, you will shred the two round protuberances on the case which serve to keep the clip in place.

Since this is the second time I ordered the remotes, I decided there has to be a better way to install the clips to the remotes. The "magic sauce" is a to dab a few drops of Teflon lubricant (not WD-40) on the back of the remote where the clip slides in. Do NOT spray the teflon lubricant directly on the back of the remote. It will be too much and might damage the internal electronics. Spray the lubricant to the end of a Q-tip and then dab the lubricant to the back of the remote where the clip slides into place.

Use a flathead jewelers screwdriver to left up the flat end of the clip where it stops at the first nob. Then push & wiggle the other end of the while you simultaneously use the flat head screwdriver to lift the clip up and over the first round protuberance. Be patient and keep at it but do not use brute force since you will wind up shearing off the two plastic protuberances.

After you clear the first protuberance, use the same approach with the second protuberance. Wiggle one end of the clip while you lift up the end with the screwdriver. The lubricant will get you to the finish line without seriously damaging the plastic protuberances.

Solidremote, there must be a better design that will allow for installing the clip to the remote while still keeping it secure once it locks into place. Feel free to incorporate my above tips into your description of the product as well as with the instructions for the remotes.

Bought a house with attached garage with a 2004(?) Master mechanic Garage door opener, but no remotes. They paired right away and work great! Very inexpensive solution which makes them even better. I bought four, one for each car and one sitting by the door that goes into the house.

Actually was having garage doors serviced when these arrived. They programmed in about 10 seconds. I have 2 doors & they programmed both remotes to work on both doors separately with the A & B buttons
