Broken Neck
EPJ✓ Verified Purchase•January 23, 2024
I am 75 years old and have two torn rotator cuff muscles in my right arm that have never been repaired one from 1980's and the other from 2012, and naturally now that I cannot do "Hot Yoga" anymore, arthritis has set in. And to add insult to injury, I am permanently disabled from a "broken neck" sustained from an auto accident in 2016 at age 73. However, because my neck has two 7" rods infused in my scull holding my neck stable, each rod has 6 clamps and each clamp has two screws; and although I am not in pain from the broken neck, the hardware is VERY heavy and is causing me great discomfort, balance and mobility issues.
Therefore, in lieu of taking drugs and medication for discomfort from my neck and/or with other health issues including being in remission for VASCULITIS [inflammation] in my mid/large arteries, I take the "Forever Aloe nutritional regime". Because I cannot work-out any more I try to do Isometric exercises for my arm, legs and hips, I rely on alternative measures as best I can to sustain my well-being. e.g. Acupuncture, Reiki, magnetic products, insoles and other Nikken far-infrared products, massage (with GREAT caution). Compression in shoulders, (*) no rubbing). However, because my bones have become very weak and I walk stooped over from the weight of the hardware in my neck and have "NO" muscle strength to help me straighten-up to walk upright.
Therefore, I purchased the 6 lb. vest to see if it could help me with my balance to sit and walk more erect. The vest came yesterday and I began wearing it. I immediately felt the benefit of the gravity challenging my body to sit, stand and walk in a more erect position. However, this morning I put the 6 lb. weighted vest on backwards with the opening hanging open in the back and is helping my body to balance my weight, and seems that the additional weight on my shoulders is providing some much-needed decompression that appears to be alleviating my inability to use my right arm which is crippled from the two (2) torn un-repaired rotator cuff muscles.
Although, it is too soon to tell because this is only the second day, I am using the vest, and am still "experimenting" with the product; but last evening I placed the vest on my chest and shoulders for decompression of my shoulder muscles while I slept, and this morning I think I noticed that my shoulder seems to move a little easier. But the next few days, weeks and months will be the test. However, my recovery is a constant "work in progress".
Sincerely,
EPJ
P.S. So all of my health care providers have benefit of my and their efforts which may be beneficial in helping other patients that they are treating, I will be forwarding this review to my PCP; Physical Medicine doctor; orthopedic doctor; Acupuncturist; PT; Massage Therapist and Reiki Master

love this vest
AMG✓ Verified Purchase•January 19, 2024
I bought the 20-lb vest and I use it a few times a week. I walk briskly for 45 minutes and I can really feel it in my posterior chain. I love that it adds resistance to my walk and makes it more of a mini-workout. I've been rucking for about 10 years and was previously using a weighted backpack. I'm so glad I switched to this weighted vest because now the weight is evenly distributed between my front and back and I feel more stable. The only thing I would like to see added is a cell-phone pocket. There is a mesh pocket on the back but it's very difficult to reach if you're by yourself. The front has a few loops where I added a clip so I can hang my keys. Would buy again and I highly recommend a weighted vest if you want to add a little more oomph to your walk.
Great vest! Slight caution if you are slim.

This is a GREAT vest for working out, just one slight caution for potential buyers.
The positives:
- Well made. Appears very durable.
- Material is very comfortable. Kind of like Nylon/Neoprene.
- Weight distribution is excellent. The weight is evenly distributed in front, back, and along the shoulders.
- The design of this vest is great. It almost shouldn't be called a "vest". Provides COMPLETE range of motion and least body coverage of any vest I have seen on the market or have tried on. This design allows complete versatility for use in a workout, allows your body to breath and minimizes sweat accumulation.
- Customer service is excellent. See below.
- I read other reviews that mentioned the smell. While it does smell a bit when the box is received, I just let the vest sit out for a day and the smell was gone.
- The price is right! Even though you can't really add or subtract weight to the vest, if you know how many pounds you want to use, you can buy two of these for the same price as competitor vests that have adjustable weights!
The ONLY drawback - While there are different weight options, there is only one size option. I am about 5'8" and relatively slim - chest is about 39". Even with the 2 buckles tightened as much as possible, the vest moves around on me. I was looking for a SNUG fit for running and working out (doing a Murph, etc.), and the vest just bounces around a bit too much for me. Very disappointed, but only because everything else about this vest is AWESOME. If you're a size 40 or more chest, this vest is perfect. Having said that, the company's customer service is GREAT. Responded within a day and took care of me no questions asked. I really appreciate that.

20lb and 30lb review
Lorelei Hubbard✓ Verified Purchase•November 29, 2023
Have now had these for a few months and my husband and I love them. Will say the 20lb fits me better - 30lb seems to be a little bigger but probably bc it's having to fit 10 more lbs or material. There is absolutely no reason for the pocket unless you have someone with you who can grab stuff from it and put it back for you. The two snaps sit well. I'm broad shouldered and 36d chest but always in a sports bra and sometimes in nothing but the shirt and it sits comfortably on top. More so with the 30lb than the 20lb I've found if I'm wearing a tank a little rub/irritation on inside arm when walking (arms swinging naturally) not a big deal and alleviated when wearing sleeves.
Honestly love these because I can take just a short walk and get way more out of it by adding in the weight. Highly recommend.
Just for reference my husband wears a large shirt - 5'9", and 30lb is a good fit on him. I'm M-L shirt and 5'7" and the 20lb sits super great on me (30lb is a little big but works just fine). We both cinch the straps all the way to try to keep it snug and it works on the 20lb for me but is still just a tad loose on the 30lb - but doesn't impede use)
Hope this helps ðŸ‘ðŸ½
(Not that it matters but I'm full time Guard (Army). Love these for a more well distributed ruck simulation and keeps me always ready. I don't run with them because of my hips but walk 14-16min miles regularly. I believe that they have really helped keep me to standard and make mandatory rucks way smoother because I've prepped).

Comfortable

Got this for my husband because he really wanted to get into rocking and it's really comfortable. He's had no backaches or anything from it. He wears it every day walking the dogs. He's ready to move onto a little bit heavier one now.
