I first heard of alcohol filled advent calendars last year and LOVED the idea of it. I'm sensitive to chocolate so the traditional ones aren't that appealing to me. But have you ever looked at the price to buy an already filled boozy advent calendar (assuming you can find one you want in the states... most of them are Canada or the UK)? $90+!!! And trying to figure out how to make the actual calendar part myself?! I'm crafty, but a simple solution was evading me!
Imagine my delight when I came across this ready to fill version from this lovely company! The design and construction is actually pretty great for $10! I highly recommend getting some if you're at all thinking of making an adult advent calendar.

This is an advent calendar designed to hold small bottles of booze and/or pieces of chocolate. Unlike other calendars, it's rather plain - you're basically getting an empty cardboard box with perforations that allow you to slip in your treats. I can understand why others are disappointed that it doesn't come with anything other than that. But unless you're crafty and have the time to create something professional-looking out of a plain cardboard box, this is the next best thing. The box is a blank canvas onto which you can color, add little trimmings and, of course, finish with little bottles of booze. This makes the perfect gift for a drinker or someone you have trouble finding a gift for.

This advent calendar box for putting little alcohol bottles was exactly what I was looking for! After finding a few companies that have these pre-made (with the alcohol), I decided the $300 price tag was a bit too hefty, so this box enabled me to make my own for less than 1/3 of that price. This is box is exactly as advertised, a very sturdy box to hold 12 little alcohol bottles and does not come with the alcohol. The price does seem a bit high for just for a cardboard box, but really there isn't that much out there that fits this description (a 12 slot advent calendar for little alcohol bottles). Was delivered quickly and in good form, and look forward to gifting this!

I always end up rushing around last minute trying to find an awesome gift that people will actually like! Not this year. It's perfect for secret Santa, the hard-to-buy-for family member, or your boozy best friend who loves mixing up cocktails. They even have a mini wine version! It's a great size and would be festive enough to just add a ribbon and bow and call it a day. Definitely recommend.
