Works reliably when you know how to use it

I keep its projector on my ceiling the whole solar day but can only see it when it gets dark outside.
After I found out how to set it to go off every single day at the same time, (1-7 mode), my confidence in this product was very much restored. And then it has another mode (bu) to select buzzer rather than radio.
This product makes a very unique alarm clock, and I like the variation in the buzzer.
So if you experiment with the various modes that can have one of its two alarms going off on weekdays or weekends or on a specific day, be sure to keep in mind that it won't go off at that time on other days. Every alarm clock I have used go off each day when they have been set.

Great clock, but could have been perfect. Also a bummer when alarm decides not to go off

This is a very nice alarm clock. Dual alarm, auto set, projection display, different brightness levels, small learning curve but pretty intuitive overall. It actually has an AM and FM antenna attached. Although it looks a little sloppy in the back because of the short wires, the radio sounds much clearer than other clock radios. Today is the first day of Daylight Savings Time, and it handled it like a champ (i woke up to the correct time - lol).
Rather than go over what's great about it, I'll say it's great and just point out areas that could have been better.
First and foremost, although this clock includes a battery back up, which is great should you have occasional power outages, the company failed to realize that there should be some indication as to when the battery needs to be replaced. It does not. I even called the company directly to ask about it. The nice woman said "nobody ever asked that before". After a brief hold to speak with a technician, she returned to confirm there is in fact no indication on the clock as to when the battery needs to be replaced. Also, be advised this is NOT a rechargeable battery, but CR 2032 cell type battery.
It's kind of a big deal, since it renders the battery back up obsolete. If the battery has no drain, this type of battery could probably last close to 3 years. You make think a solution would be just to change it every other year or so. However, assume you were on vacation, traveling for business, etc. Assume during this time there is a power outage. When the power goes out, the battery is used to keep time and alarm settings, which drains it. the longer the outage, the greater the drain. So even if you were home during the power outage and knew how long it actually lasted, how much of the battery life did it use? Who knows? Thus, a great feature for peace of mind was included with the battery back up, but it is kind of useless if you don't know when the battery is dead.
Secondly, and not such a big deal, is the wasted space with the indoor temperature display. Do we really need our alarm clock to tell us the temperature of the room? If it told you the outside temperature it would be useful. But it does not. Just the room temperature. They could have much more usefully used that display space to display the alarm time. Then you would always know what time the alarm(s) were set for at a glance instead of having to push the button on the back. Oh well.
Aside from that, the clock works good, and looks even better. Very modern and sleek and projection just seals it. I'd recommend it. And if the engineers who design this clock are reading this, please correct these issues for a perfect 5 out of 5 stars review.

I've had this clock for just under a year. Today was the third (maybe 4th) time the alarm did not go off. It was set properly for all 7 days of week on the same radio station and volume. The other times it happened (spread out over 11 plus months, and completely random), even though I knew it was impossible for me to sleep through an hour of it going off near my head, I just figured I must have somehow slept through it. Today I woke up on my own within 45 minutes of the set time(alarm sounds for an hour when it goes off). Alas, no alarm. Was still set properly. No power outages or anything like that. So the short of it is the alarm randomly does not go off.
Luckily it's just under a year, and their excellent and polite customer service is sending a new one under warranty.
I'm curious if anyone else has also experienced this with this clock. So bizarre that it is so random and infrequent. Please comment if you have.

Best Clock I've Ever Owned
Kendrick Lomax✓ Verified Purchase•August 2, 2023
I love this clock! It's well made, and has to be the most high tech and easy to use (once you learn it) alarm clock I've ever seen. Alarm 1 doesn't come in loud and obnoxious like traditional alarm clocks, instead it starts with several light tones, then faster tones, then even faster tones, then eventually a constant stream of tones. Alarm 2 just instantly hits you with the final stage until you turn it off or hit snooze. The snooze button and the power button are right next to each other so when you're ready to fully awake you can just tap the small power button instead of snooze this time around (you can feel the difference, long button vs small round button). Also, at night before you sleep, you can hit the snooze button a few times to turn off the display light so it's not shining in your face (lowest light is still rather bright) and rely on the projector for time or indoor temperature. When the alarm sounds the display also lights up to the brightest setting to assist in waking you, but goes back to what you had it set to once you hit snooze or off. Another great ease of use feature I like, is that once you have hit the power button the officially shut it up, you can just tap the power button again to listen to radio or an aux plugged in device. Radio is no high quality boom box but it gets plenty loud and stays very clear to enjoy what you're listening to even at its loudest volume. I can pull and preset (save) all the major Chicago stations beautifully from Blue Island, IL. One of my favorite features is that straight out of the box all I needed to do is tell it my time-zone and everything (date, time, year) was set for good. Which means, who needs a backup battery? If the power goes out and comes back while you're asleep, don't worry, the clock will stay set to the right time... not sure if the alarm(s) will remain set though... I'll have to check that out.
Update 11/28/16:
Still going strong! Though throughout the 2 years I've owned it I've noticed the time has started to go a little fast forcing me to set it back a few minutes every month or so, but still viewed as one of the most high tech and unique things in my apartment. I'm near sighted so I can't see far away and while laying in bed without my glasses I can very easily see the time projected on my ceiling. Still one of my favorite household items and I can't tell you how useful the dual alarm system is, especially since I can set them to only alarm on weekdays or one specific day. Works well for when I need to get up at a certain time on the weekend while still maintaining my weekday alarms. I still highly recommend purchasing this one!
Update 6/24/20:
I've had this clock over 5 years now, it's still super cool and still prompting me to leave a review! Mind you I wear glasses, can't see things clearly far away. But at night, I can read the time perfectly clearly on my ceiling with my glasses off. Perfect for barely rolling over to check the time periodically. Not a single issue from this clock besides the occasional needed roll back of the time by a minute or two. Minor inconvenience, still worth 5 stars. Someone called it a complicated clock and gave it a bad review... well, yes it's a little complex, but for good reason! Dual alarms, each one can be set for either every weekday or just one chosen day, radio, calendar, temperature, projector, aux jack, ability to adjust time backwards and forwards, none of that "missed the number now I have to cycle through all of them again" crap. Gonna be a little complex when you factor in all of that. If you don't want all of that, get a simpler clock for like 5 bucks. This is still hands down my favorite clock after 5 years!

The best clock radio I've owned so far!
DragonWench✓ Verified Purchase•July 28, 2023
Recently, my clock radio, an Emerson SmartSet, decided to crap out on me after only five years or so. (The alarm function and radio stopped working, although, weirdly, the clock part still kept time, and on battery back-up, the alarm would still go off. I still can't quite figure that one out.) I thought about trying to play around with the Emerson, to see if I could fix it, but I just didn't feel up to it, so I went shopping and found this Magnasonic. I was really excited because it fit all the criteria I was looking for: it was a clock radio, not just an alarm clock; it had a dual alarm system; and the clock sets automatically as soon as it's plugged in. Plus, it has two other features that are just plain nice to have: it has a sensor that registers the room temperature, and it projects the time onto the ceiling/wall so I don't even have to raise my head from my pillow to see what time it is.
I'll admit, it took a bit of time for me to figure out how to work this clock radio, for the mere fact that it's completely different from any I've owned previously. Not only because of the extra functions/features, but also because it's so sleek and compact. I'm used to those bulky, slightly rectangular, slightly oblong radios that are at least half a foot long, half a foot wide, and as thick as bricks (with the really old ones almost weighing as much as bricks). This Magnasonic is almost tiny in comparison: it's only 5 1/2 inches long, about the same measurement in height, and 3 1/2 inches deep. The biggest thing about it is the LCD screen up front. However, a brief perusal of the instructions showed that the Magnasonic is really user-friendly and once you figure out what each button is for and how to work them, setting the alarms and using all the functions is easy-peasy. As I pointed out, the clock part sets automatically as soon as you plug it in, so that's one less thing to deal with; all you have to worry about is setting the time zone if you're not in the default Eastern time zone. The dual alarms are set from one central button and you can not only set the time, but you're given options as to how often the alarm will go off: all seven days of the week, Monday through Friday only, Saturday and Sunday only, or just one day of the week. Buttons on the back allow you to choose whether you want the alarms to go off as a buzzer or as music from the radio, and to turn one or both alarms off completely. There are all sorts of other details you can fiddle with such as setting the time and calender manually, setting the snooze function, setting the sleep function, and changing the display content. And then there's the projection, which comes from a rotating arm on the left-hand side of the unit. The arm can be rotated into an almost horizontal position both front and back, and there's a wheel at the top which focuses the projection--just turn the wheel until the display is clear and crisp. The display can also be flipped by 180 degrees for rear projection; just press another button to do so.
Now, there are two "downsides" to this clock radio that I've found. One is that, because the time isn't just a set of numbers on the front of the unit, but a full LCD screen with the time, room temp., and other info, the display is brighter than on a regular clock radio. However, there is a dimmer function to the front display, which helps, and also, because the time can be projected and therefore the front of the clock radio doesn't need to face my bed, I simply turn the unit so that the barest sliver of the screen is visible from where I'm resting, allowing most of the glow to dissipate into the room. On the plus side, if I have to get up in the middle of the night, the glow helps me avoid any cat toys littering the floor between my bed and the bathroom. The second "downside" is, because the unit is so compact, there's no room for any internal antennae for radio reception. So there are two thin external antennae to fiddle with, which, frankly, I haven't had to deal with since my clock radio from the 80's. However, neither of these "downsides" are really that bad (hence my use of quotation marks) or difficult to deal with, and, certainly, these two tiny, inconsequential details don't detract one iota from this Magnasonic's compact and functional nature.

Ceiling time view is wonderful.

I love the fact it displays the time on the ceiling. Great little clock for price. Also displays the room temperature and has a battery backup in case the power goes out. Saved me from being late to work once, so I appreciate that.
