I bought this to modify the original Grohe shower head for my aging parents (seniors). The shower head base connecting to the wall was non-standard so I could not replace it. Fortunately the base had a standard thread to allow workaround modifications including extension to make the shower head lower & reachable. Since they just needed the hand shower, I purchased the additional Moen Chrome Remote Dock which has worked really well just stuck to shower wall with no screw (cleaned the wall really well before sticking). There didn't seem to be an option to purchase the hand shower wand without the base which we didn't need. My parents have found the hand shower very easy to use:
- Light weight
- Good size ie not gigantic head
- Easy dial to change spray pattern
- Strong pressure
- Easy to attach to dock
Bought another for their guest shower and used it as the main shower head with the base - works great.

Easy to attach, but even though it had a rubber washer it still required plumbers tape to avoid leaking. Light weight which is good. Reasonably priced.

This shower arm extension was exactly what I needed. I was having trouble reaching the handheld shower unit without feeling like I had to use a small step stool. This extension is built well and it was so easy to install. It made a huge difference and now I don't have to curse when trying to take a shower reaching for the handheld shower component. I highly recommend this product if you are tired of having to stand on your tippy toes just to reach the shower head and handheld unit without the fear of slipping in the shower.
