Easy to get Mom into bed!
Lesley A Maher✓ Verified Purchase•January 25, 2024
It is really difficult to move a human body that has limited mobility. When my mom sits at the edge of her bed, she cannot scooch back enough to get all of her body on the bed to lie down. Typically, one leg doesn't make it all the way and dangles over the side. I purchased two slide sheets to place under her: one for under her butt, and the other for behind her back when she lays down. At first, when I used them, she could scooch back a little more but ended up sliding forward again. I put a folded towel on top of the (butt) slide sheet with a cord in the fold of towel with a little of the cord coming out of each side of the towel. The ends of the cord are used to pull her onto the bed from behind her. Once I get her into the middle, she lays back and I go around to the side of the bed where she was facing front and swing her legs around (remember, I put a slide sheet under her back, and she still has the one under butt) and I easily (and alone) can get her all the way into the bed. I roll her to one side just slightly and the sheets and towel are removed easily. These sheets are a god send for me and her!
Such a lifesaver

Lifesaver when trying to move person with a disability
Newton, Ma✓ Verified Purchase•December 20, 2023
I bought this after seeing it online. It has been a lifesaver for my 86 year old mother who was 2 months ahead of a hip replacement. Things had gotten so bad that she could barely walk, and trying to get her into the car was nearly impossible. With this on the seat, she is able to sit and with some help to put her legs up, easily slide across the seat.
Since her hip replacement, I have purchased two additional mats. I have one for her chair in the living room and one for her bed. Again, lifesavers! She doesn't have the upper body strength to push herself back onto the bed without this, and trying to rely on her pushing herself was resulting in very sore wrists.
The only caution is to make sure that the person is far enough back on the bed so that they don't slide off. This has not been an issue for us as we are very careful (and the package is clear about how to use this), but I make sure my mom is back before I lift her legs onto the bed. Then I gently push her hips/butt so that she is centered on the bed. She then is able to slightly lift her hips and I can pull the sheet out from the side.

It works. Can something be a good value and overpriced at the same time?

First, I must say this slide sheet does what it is supposed to do: reduce friction so that a person can be maneuvered more easily. It is very much easier getting my wife in and out of our car. The fabric appears to be strong and is well sewed into its tubular shape which provides a good hand grip to move her. However, I couldn't give a fifth star because of the price. The fabric is good quality but can't possibly be worth more than a few dollars and the labor to finish it is not complicated. There is really nothing to it except ... it works! I consider it a good value in spite of the price because it has made my life easier. And for that reason it gets four stars..
