This Summer my husband and I decided to make one of those little half barrel planter fish ponds like you see on YouTube. I just HAD to add goldfish to it because I can't possibly keep anything simple. So of course cold weather was around the corner and my husband said "you know we need a heater for the fish".
I scoured the internet for a small fish pond heater and wow"¦ it's not as easy as you'd imagine. Most pond heaters are expensive and deigned for large ponds - not a planter turned into a pond. Most aquarium heaters are designed for indoor use. Bird bath heaters only work for shallow water. Then Amazon suggested this item in my search results and I took a gamble because the price was so low it was worth a try.
Let me tell you - it works like a charm! So far it has kept our little above ground pond at a great even temperature within a couple of degrees even on the 20 degree nights we are having. The plants in it are even staying alive!
I am thrilled with this purchase and will absolutely be buying more for our indoor aquariums too! It works better than $70 heaters I have tried. Wish I could give this more than 5 stars!

I was surprised by the size of the unit. I had to put it horizontally toward the lower side of the tank to avoid having it exposed during water changes. Keeps the temp right, as dialed in. The digital thermometer is a nice addition!

Bought this for my small betta tank. Works well. Suction worked for a circular tank. They say +- to about 2 degrees which is OK. Temp gauge is difficult to read, so I use a meat thermometer to make sure temp is correct until I can get a better thermometer (I once cooked a betta with a faulty heater). Fuji happy with a more appropriate temperature, as am I.

You'll definitely need a thermo sensor. But this works....heats water VERY fast. So... Maybe get the teany version....and a thermo sensor...tied to a on off switch to off it if it gets too hot...
Seen a bad story on here... I'm just housing a beta fish but if it's heating a bunch of expensive fish.... You should lay to watch the temp and to kill switch this if heat too high
