We bought this bag for a trip that is a 5 hour drive each way and it did great except for the awful noise from the straps. Like all the other reviews state, there are no instructions. It's pretty easy to put up if you have a roof rack though. But what we learned is that it's more suitable for a roof rack with cross bars. There are back and front straps on the bag that are attached specifically to go in the back and front onto cross bars. Our SUV does not have those so we attached them off to the side bars instead. That was what made the noise problem. It was a horrible humming noise due to the straps catching the wind the right way when you go over 40 mph. It was awful. So we decided to keep the front straps off for the ride back and it fixed the problem. The bag did not budge one bit. The mat it comes with helps a lot too. The bag held up great for the drive. On our way home we were in hours of torrential downpours and one suitcase had a couple of spots of water on it but nothing seeped through the luggage and we had it packed full. So overall it is a great bag and it does the job it is supposed to do. But be aware of the issue with the front straps if you don't have crossbars.

* ** Adding a revision after original review...the company emailed me asking what they could do to make us happier after seeing the problem with the noise. I told them I would recommend instructions with the bag and maybe add to the description that it works best with crossbars. They responded that they will add instructions. They also offered compensation, which I did not take, because we are very happy with the quality of the bag. Very nice and responsive business to work with

Worth every penny. It went through rain, thunderstorms, and very hot weather. It's definitely water proof and very sturdy. The straps are well made and we bought no extra straps to tie things down. Buying one of these bags was so much easier and better looking than trying to strap everything down with bungee cords and ratchet straps. This bag keeps all your items contained and safe.

I purchased this for a trip to Disney that I took my boys on. It did great! Only note I would like to add is. It comes with a mat. I did not use the mat because my truck has a bed liner. Due to not using the mat to protect it from the bed liner I have some rough spots now in my bag. User error!

This item was great. I ordered it last minute and didn't really know what to expect. I was able to fit 4 suitcases in it (3 carry on size and one full size) along with some blankets and stuff. It made our ride a whole lot better than trying to cram everything inside. We didn't get any rain on our drive but I am confident this will keep items dry. I was sure to face the zipper to the back of the vehicle as other reviewers mentioned.

The only downside to this is that is is a hassle to strap to the roof rack. Takes time and tons of tugging. There must be a better way to this...Maybe mini ratchets or something.

Took a trip to Big Bear and got hit with a winter storm. Thank God we made it to the Mtn safely. Our items on the roof also made it there dry. Prior to heading up the Mtn we encountered showers and then the snow. This cargo bag really saved the day on this trip.
