My original review from several months ago is below. I've since changed the review from a 1 star to a 5 star because of the great customer service these guys have provided.
They have made the correct back plate for the switch (called prototype #3) and sent me a replacement for every switch I ordered.
With the correct back plate... The switch operates perfectly and makes installation very simple and fast.
I will definitely be ordering more.
If you have a typical toggle switch, you will need back plate #3 and if you have any issues, just email these guys... They will respond back!

The adapter plate for the toggle switch is designed horrible. It places the mechanism too far out from the actual switch. VERY poor design guys and shows a very obvious lack in testing.
I purchased 7 off these and didn't feel like going through the return process... Plus I'm a mechanical contractor.. so I made a new adapter plate to give the switches what they need to work properly with a toggle.
I'd give it more the 1 star if I hadn't of work for 4 days doing this... The switches do function great with Alexa however... A bit noisey.

If you dont feel like changing your light switches but have some lights that you cant simply put Alexa compatible bulbs into this is a great option. You simply take out the screws on your switch cover put them back in with the mounting pieces and stick this on top. Now your light switch is a "smart" light switch.

Would be better if it integrated with zigbee 3.0 which would make it work with more hubs and you wouldnt need its hub but its hub is small and usb powered so can be stuck anywhere

I'm now quite happy with this product. I bought three of these to control overhead lights in my kitchen. It's essentially a little box that goes over the underlying light switch. It comes with a small hub that you need to plug in to a wall outlet or USB (note that the power adapters are not fully included). You can change the switch to off or on by either pressing a button on the switch or by linking it to a Google Home or Amazon Echo device. Set up can be a challenge (more on that below), but once you get it up and running, it works perfectly with Amazon or Google.

It's so nice to just come home and tell Google or Amazon to turn all the lights on (or to have them all go off when I leave), rather than going around the house turning each individual switch on or off. While it sounds minor, in some sense, that's the most useful application that I've found for Google Home and Amazon Echo. A lot of the "information" they give you are things you could get from other sources. But it really is a huge convenience to be able to control all fo the lights in your home just using your voice, without even needing to find your smartphone. Even as a single professional, I've found this to be a huge time saver; I imagine it'd be even more useful for a big family with kids who are prone to leave the lights on.

The only reason I don't give this product five stars is that there can be some hiccups during set up and phone support is not great. The product comes with a postcard-size piece of paper that's the instruction manual. There's not much on there about troubleshooting, and the phone number listed only played a prerecorded message in Chinese (which drove me up the wall when I was having trouble getting this to connect initially). I called during the business hours listed on the postcard, and I was sufficiently annoyed that they did not answer that I left a one-star review on Amazon, after which someone from the company reached out and offered to provide tech support. I didn't end up speaking to them because when I tried again later, I managed to get it to connect. It would be a better product if they have a more detailed manual (ideally including advice on how to position it on your existing light switch) and better phone support with an English option. If you buy this and do run into an issue during set up, I suspect you will have the best luck just emailing them about your issue. After I got over the Wi-Fi connectivity issues during setup, it's worked very reliably and I haven't had to do anything more.

Now that's it working, I'm happy with it and I might even buy another one for another room. If you're buying switches for a home you own, you probably want an electrician to put smart switches into the wall. But if you're renting or just don't want to deal with wires or an electrician, this is an inexpensive do-it-yourself option that will let you connect your light switches to smart home devices.

The first worked great. I have in on our Breakfast light and connects to Alex perfectly. So, I ordered a second one for the garage and it also works exactly as it should. So far battery life hasn't been an issue and have not had to replace the batteries yet. The hub which is required, I simply plugged in into a usb outlet. I have several switches which I had to rewire and they also work but honestly, this is so slick in that it just fits right over the existing switches. What I like about the 3rd Reality is that the breakfast light is actually a 4 way light (4 switches can control it). Trying to replace all 4 of those with a replacement wifi would be a pain. The 3rd Reality eliminates all the work. Great product, easy to install and reasonably priced.

Turns lights on. Turns lights off. Installed in literal minutes including finding a screwdriver. I LOVE that the hub is already on standard with usb c, but unsure I understand the usb c power out passthrough that only accepts the proprietary usb c cables it came with. I was really excited when I saw the usb c power out because I thought it was so you could still charge another device with the small footprint of the hub (get to use an existing charger without losing a plug or adding major clutter) but this is NOT the purpose. Only reason it is 4 star for me. Otherwise satisfied with native and Alexa response time and function.

PS. I used only with rocker switch. Not standard pole toggle.

THIS IS AN AMAZING OPTION FOR APARTMENTS WHERE IT IS OFTEN INADVISABLE TO BE MAKING WITING CHANGES....easy to install....easy to take with you when you go....virtually no risk of damage or other fees when moving out.

My ONLY complaint is I feel the design could be improved to be slimmer/blend in better. It's like a wart growing out of the wall. It would be awesome to have future versions that are

1. slimmer, the same size as the original wall plate (perfect overlap) and with a button that at least REPLICATES the size and shape of the original underlying rocker so it blends in with nearby "simpleton" switches better....the bulk and tiny round button just make it look like less of a modern solution than it is.

2. 2, 3, and 4 gang versions (also size matched and slimmed) to avoid having a line of bumps on the wall.

It's not "ugly" as is, but I feel like the design makes it feel overpriced. I'm only doing switches of high interest over all because I feel the price reflects a device with a LITTLE more care into aesthetic design. This to me is the $25 (proof of concept) before committing to a classier, more refined $40 model.
