Heavy gauge stainless where you need it. Strainer is incredible!

When my old aluminum pot perforated and sprung a leak I knew what I had to do! I went stainless. This thing exceeds all expectations. The strainer is incredible. It has spot welded "feet" on the bottom that keeps the basket from sitting on the bottom of the pot. This way you can also steam if you need to. The only negative is that it did not come with one of those clothes hanger things to grab the handle with to pull the hot lid or strainer off and out of the pot. So I am using the rusty one from my old aluminum pot, which is a bit of a bummer. Overall though, this is the pot you want!

The worst part about using this is making it dirty. Like most stainless steel things it showed up looking pristine. Took the heat well from a 200k burner and boiled 10 gallons of water fairly quickly. Other than some scorching from the burner on the bottom it cleaned up well after one use. You will need gloves and a tool to pull the collander part of the pot out safely, it's very large. Everyone at the tailgate loved it and we got lots of visitors for our boil.

After using this unit to hosted several "Dungeness crab & lobster parties", we highly recommend this product. Several guests remarked how nice it is. This large unit with lid fits adequately on our stove with 1/8" clearance below the microwave provided we use the large front burner.
