I used it to step down a 3s lipo battery to 5v and it works perfectly. Doesn't seem to get too hot either, just a bit warm. You may want a way of dissipating heat if used for a long time.

The Pololu 5V Step-Up/Step-Down Voltage Regulator S7V7F5 (Item: 2119) is an excellent product. If provides a constant 5V from various input voltages (constantly changing) between 2.7 V and 11.8 V. I use this to regulate the power to the video transmitter (vtx) on my quadcopters. It will handle 1S and 2S LiPo batteries nicely and is small enough to fit into a "tiny whoop" frame. Overall, this has been the best regulator that I have used for these tiny applications.
