My 9# cat had avoided several vet appointments.

This top loader is a game changer. It takes a lot of planning and guile to get this little hellfire furball to the vet's to have her escape as I try to frontload her. I don't rate this for traveling as I will never travel with a cat.
Not All Reviewers are accurate.. item functions perfectly.

I was a bit concerned when reading reviews concerning difficulties installing screws and bolts and other, stating that the top did not hinge. I am 62 years old and put this together in about three minutes with no issues. The top is hinged and will open right to left or left to right which ever you prefer, it functions beautifully. THe screw bolts are placed into the channel, located on the underside. The channel prevents the screw bolt from turning. You then put your screw in tops, holding the bolt into the channel with your finger and using a screwdriver everything comes together perfectly.
Hope the photos are helpful. I purchased this item used via Amazon and I'm more than happy with this product.
Highly recommend- even Amazon "used""¦ which simply came in a "used" looking box.

Decent pet carrier for a decent price

The media could not be loaded. Haven't used the carrier yet but I will in a few day for a vet appointment. This was bought at the last minute and it arrived in 2 days. It is a lot more flimsy than my other 2 pet carriers but it was also $10 cheaper (both on sale) or $30 cheaper (both off sale) so I wasn't expecting it to be remotely the same as the other 2.
Assembly:
It's not my first time putting together a pet carrier but it was my first time putting together one white a screwdriver. At first I was confused on how I would get the screws on. I was going to put them on upside down and just buy some caps for the screws but then I thought I should just try to screw them on upside down. Well... that worked!
Start by putting the top onto the bottom along with the door and use the hinges to hold it in place. After that if you want to put the bolts on, I suggest following this and flip it upside down!
While the carrier was upside down, I first put the nut in place then started to put the bolt in. Using my finger to keep the nut in place, I only screwed the bolt on to where it would stay on its own and not fall off. After doing all of them, I then flipped the carrier right-side up and used a screwdriver to screw them in. Because of science or something the bolt was able to fully screw on--which was a relief. Finish screwing them on all and its all done.
I've posted a video of me putting the bolts. I will put it to the test this week for a vet visit.

Good carrier, bad screws and nuts

Wonderful carrier with both front and top openings. Had to take one of my cats to the vet. This carrier is a good fit because my cat doesn't mind being placed in her carrier through the front opening door, but at the vet she is terrified and getting her back out can be a pain. Being able to open the top door made that chore a lot easier.
The one negative thing about this carrier were the 6 supplied screws and nuts. The phillips head wasn't punched very well resulting in the screw driver not being able to get an adequate bite. Also the threads on the screws didn't match up with the nuts. Not a big problem, I had 10-24 x 1" screws and nuts that worked very well.

Seems promising! Great price!

This cage seems pretty good and you really can't beat it for the price it's great! However it doesn't seem too sturdy, my cat is a little heavy probably like 15lbs by now and I would not trust just carrying by the handle, either way I always use both hands to support his weight from the bottom. So safety wise I think it's safe or at least my cat wouldn't escape but the handle could possibly break after some time when carrying your heavy cat in there lol hopefully not though. It's a good size and he has plenty of room in there, he's about 2 years old for reference. He's not squished in there so that's awesome! The color to me seems a little darker in person but I do not mind, it's a nice color. The door is very loud when unlocking it (squeezing the door lock/handle) makes a squeaking sound and it is kind of unpleasant/annoying! But other than that this cage is exceptional and I would definitely recommend especially for the price, thanks Amazon! To clean I'd say it is very easy(: As you can see from the pictures, my cat did the sniff test and he approves this message. He got in there on his own right away and he already started scratching it lol😒 Also thank you Amazon for the box and packaging, my cat loves it.🫶🽠(I should've got a pic of him inside the box though🥺😻) Btw assembly was so easy, so either some other reviewers lack common sense/knowledge or Amazon updated the way they ship this because it came in great packaging not damaged no missing parts, and all I had to do is basically snap everything together and screw in the screws.
I'll update my review if needed, I'm hoping this cage will last a long while though🤞ðŸ½
