After figuring out how to put it together and spray painting it to keep it from rusting this trap works perfectly. It seems strong enough to hold an animal small enough to fit in the cage and the trip pad is good and sensitive enough for small animals.

OK, first thoughts: We bought this to catch a rogue armadillo that has dug holes all in and under our house. This little mofo has outsmarted me and avoided capture for months! So, I bought this trap hoping to end this game of catch me if you can.
Catching them isn't supposed to be difficult, and we watched several YouTube videos on what to do (and not do), but this biiiiiiii has escaped even from this trap! Three times now, on video, I watched it walk right into it and once it slams the door it is able to just push itself out like it helped put a patent this on thing.
BTW, I've caught our cat twice. He isn't smart enough to get out.
Summary: Great for cats, but Armadillos not so much.

Used it once and immediately caught a squirrel. Awesome! After that the next time I set it up the latch seemed to slide almost off. Came back 5 minutes and door was shut, reset it again and it was 1 minute it closed when latch slid off. I had to take plier and rough up the latch and bend it a tiny bit more. Materials make this trapping mechanism a bit sensitive and easy to bend something. I love the assembly process, but man made this stuff from better metals that I can't bend with my fingers.
Seller was very helpful. Had a bad trap but it was replaced by one that works.

The media could not be loaded. This trap comes with instructions that make it seem easy to assemble. However, maybe I got a poorly constructed trap because I found a few extra clamps that were not mentioned in the instructions. Then I noticed that the clamp that holds the top of the door was also open. The metal used seems very flexible. I am returning this trap because I really don't want to injure the animals I am trying to trap. I am afraid that this trap's clamps will not withstand any struggle the animal may give.
Update: I contacted the seller and they were very helpful and sent a replacement trap. This trap feels sturdy and there are no loose parts to it. Tested it out and it works well. I have included the pictures and video of the new trap. This is why I changed my review to 5 stars
