I bought this one year ago. and have used several times. Last November I drove from North-East Oregon to the SF bay area. I had this and another bag from Wal-Mart on my roof. We had pooring rain and snow the entire 800 mile drive which lasted 2 days after being snowed in. So basically, this bag was on the roof for about 36 hours. When I got home, everything in the "water proof" Wal-Mart bag was wet with a puddle in the bottom. Everything in this bag was bone dry; not one drop got in. The Wal-Mart bag went straight to the garbage can after one use. This one has lasted several uses and still works great. If I ever need another roof top bag, I will definitely buy this one again.

I used this moving over 600 miles. Sturdy and durable. I will say this I used zip ties to secure it around my top rack. The straps had me nervous as they didn't tighten well.

We've taken this on several trips in CO so far this summer, and it's held up well. It's rained quite a bit this year (east of the divide anyways). Kept our bedding in it this past camping trip if that's any indication of the trust I'm starting to have for her. I'm sure you're not supposed to do this, but I sprayed the bugs off of the front with a self-carwash pressure washer wand and didn't get any leaking from that. Pretty impressed"¦ good budget buy.

Made an 18 hour, one way, cross country trip with this strapped to the top of our mini van. It literally rained all but an hour of the trip...and by rained, I mean poured! To the point we had to pull off a few times due to lack of visibility. I was sure everything would be soaked when we arrived. Because of poor experiences in the past, with other roof top carriers, we had bagged everything in the topper with black trash bags. When we arrived at our destination and opened it up there was not a drip of water to be found! I was absolutely in shock and very impressed!
We strapped it back on for the return trip home and it functioned perfectly. I don't know if it was needed, but we did place a mesh grip pad (like you place under rugs) under the topper before we strapped it down. It stayed perfectly in place the entire trip. We hands down recommend this topper.
