Overall the product was everything it was supposed to be as advertised. Unfortunately the product description does not specifically specify which Toyota truck it fits (Tacoma, Tundra, or both). It popped up when shopping in "My Garage" for Tacoma stuff so I thought I was fine. The installation instructions indicate it is for a Tundra. I'd tried installing it anyway but it was a no go. Everything would/could have been fine except Amazon is charging me return shipping for the return. According to Amazon's return policy the fact that the item doesn't fit my truck isn't their fault (per their return policy I agree) but it isn't my fault either. Grrrrr

Product is exactly what I wanted, and works well. But be warned that the "one size fits all" is misleading. Yes, it fits my 2021 Chevy Colorado, but only because I was comfortable with being able to modify the installation of the hinges, because the template included initially had me drill the holes over 2" too high, so I had to redrill the holes. I also had to cut almost 6" off of each of the three tubes (3" on each side of each tube) so the product would fit the width of the truck bed. But once the modifications were made, I am very satisfied with the extender, and it is easy to use, and easy to remove when needed. I would buy again.

The design was solid for my f150. My biggest issue is that the template to drill the brackets was missing. I read a review from someone else that was also missing the template but found it from an older unit, so I used that. This cost me about an hours time. The mfg could easily put the template layout on a page in the manual to solve this problem instead of shipping it separately. Other than that, the unit was well designed and went together well. The two uprights are plastic but seem very strong, so should not be an issue. The horizontal rails are aluminum tubing and seem strong. I would give it a higher rating if they would put the template layout in the manual. I have seen several complaints about it being missing and that is a crucial part of the installation, so leaving it out of the installation kit is a major problem.

Must be mechanically inclined. Cutting to fit is a must for mid size truck beds. I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma short bed (5 ft). Had to cut bars down to adjust the width. Luckily my husband works for a off road installer and knew what needed to be done.
