While these chisels are a bit rough around the edges, they are very nice where it counts. The blades are nicely ground--not what I would call sharp, but well ground--and the steel is of a good quality and temper. After a few minutes with a stone, they cut very good, and stay sharp for a reasonable amount of time. The handles are OK, nothing fancy, and perhaps a bit crude in finish, but for the price just fine. The box they come in is nothing to write home about, however it does make a handy storage spot for the set. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase, and would recommend the set to anyone who needs a quality chisel with a fantastic price.

I purchased this tool set for a friend lookkng to enter the carpentry field soon. After some light reasearch, and given the price of the set, the Ezarc chisels seem like a durable set of tools that shall last quite some time with proper care. However, there was a decent sized hole on the lid of the box upon opening the package after its delivery. There were no signs of damage to the Ezarc cardboard box the case was in, nor the Amazon box containing the entire product. I believe it was just a matter of a defective product being sent out, which is dissapointing. The chisels themselves were in excellent condition and bore a very sharp edge, ready to be put to work. Overall, a good product.

These chisels come decently sharp out of the box. I have not had a chance to put them on a stone to check flatness or sharpen the edge but I did use them for some mortise work and they did the job just fine. I think they would work well for hobbyists or part time use but if you are a hard core woodworker you may want to look at Narex or some Pfeil chisels or the like.

Surprisingly good quality for a budget chisel set. The box is solid, the handles and the actual chisels remind me of the old Spanish chisels from the defunct Mifer company.

These EZARC chisels take an edge quickly with a 1000 grit diamond metal stone and polish up to a nice mirror shine with a 3000 grit diamond metal stone - see the photo.

I've used these chisels on some funky walnut burl and purpleheart - both hard and tough on chisels. They worked fine. They sailed through pine on a doorframe is was working on. I touched up the blades after use.

Diamond stones like Atoma or Ultra Sharp are ideal for chisel sharpening because you can't dig or gouge diamond stones - a 1000/3000 is perfect for chisels but they are pricey.

You CAN easily gouge a ceramic water stone or a soft King water stone with a chisel blade. Then you have to flatten and lap the gouged water stone with a 300 grit stone. I discovered that data the hard way.

For general shop or job site use on a budget, this is a solid set of chisels. Hope that helps!
