For many years I have kept emergency gear in the trunk of my car. A spare set of clothing, a pair of shoes, a sleeping bag, some bottled water, etc ...
This extremely lite-weight tent has made an excellent addition to that gear. I hope that I never need to use it, but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not having it.

Fortunately, I haven't needed to use this yet. But will say that I like the small compact size makes it convenient to put one in each vehicle to use as a blanket or sleeping bag if needed. I packed mine with other vehicle emergency tools (air pump, tools, lights).
Also plan to transfer it to my day pack when hiking in case of problems on the trail. Again, the small size makes this possible.

as they come from the manufacturer they are not the easiest to unfold and "deploy" if needed in an emergency in rain or sleet one would be soaked which is not good. so i am glad i did a "dry" run at home were i refolded it to make it way easier and faster to deploy...otherwise good stuff. i think it seems so far(not used yet) but it does seem more durable compared to the cheap tiny walmart mylar ...

when I am walking a 10-15 mile loop trail I want to have a portable shelter in case something goes wrong. A tent is too heavy. This fits the bill nicely, it will sit on the bottom of my pack and be ready in case I need it.
I set it up in my backyard to test it and it went up easily and is large enough for me to fit in comfortably (6'1 250 lbs). Folding it back up was not as much fun but doable. This is an emergency shelter. It is not meant to replace a multi-use tent but it looks like it is durable enough for several nights in the field.
