Easy-peezy installation in either position (2x3 or 3x2) with Type-A or -B elbows. A complete kit, all parts accounted for, but a few extra screws added to the kit bag might be a nice touch (murphy's law insurance).

The fun part: One hinged section includes a 10 ft long straight spout routed beyond the negative slope beside my house foundation. My local resident chipmunk likes to hide-out inside the pipe and stash all kinds of chipmunk treats, sometimes sitting just inside the pipe outlet and watching me doing my weekly yardwork. I wait until the timing's right, then I lift the pipe straight up slowly on the Zip Hinge. a
The little guy tries to hang in there, you can hear the desperate clawing and scrambling. Despite great effort, out spills the colorful little furball with all the stashed treats and then takes-off like a shot, none-the-worse for wear, until next week. The treats that spilled magically disappear overnight (probably right back into the pipe). It's fun with sasquatch on a tiny scale and best of all there's no harm done!

This hinge was great. Living in MN, I was told to flip the end of the gutter up so that ice won't fill it and this does the trick. Easy to put on the gutter and it works!

Best solution I've found for gutter extensions.

These two-piece hinges were easy to install. Do go watch the video on their website, as the written instructions are not very clear. The video says all! The first downspout took me 30 minutes as I was very very cautious about the install and fit. After that, the next five downspouts were about five minutes each.

Aluminum downspout is recommended for extensions, but I used vinyl downspout and it worked fine, the included zip screws went through it easily. I cut the vinyl extensions with a hacksaw and miter box for 45 degree angle needed to attach. NOTE: Be sure you are cutting the 45 across the correct side! I wasn't paying that much attention and almost cut one left to right instead of top to bottom...

Another reviewer mentioned putting a bolt through the hinge holes once assembled and I agree, so I did that. The hinges will work without the bolt but as they are a bit flimsy, the long bolt through the holes really helps to stabilize the hinge joint.

I can't use the included butterfly hangers to hold the extensions in the upright position as my extensions are 6 feet, they go up to the top where the downspout bends toward the gutter. So instead I used two different methods.

Four of six downspouts are flush against the house. For these I used a long piece of 20 gauge 316 stainless steel wire, threaded between the downspout and house. I bent the ends into a U shape, and just hook the ends together around the extension to hold it up. It doesn't have to be tight, just snug enough to not unhook in a heavy wind.

The other two downspouts are not flush against the house but stand off a few inches. For these I used a long piece of "one-wrap" velcro strapping, I just wrap the extension to the downspout. (One-wrap is not sticky; it has hooks on one side and loops on the other so you can wrap it around itself no matter what length. Great for wrapping around cables and wires too.)

I would give the Zip Hinge 5 stars if it was sturdier. And if it had a good method for securing extensions up that are too long to use the included butterfly retainer.
