GREAT IN THE WALL TOO!!!
D. Hudson✓ Verified Purchase•September 9, 2023
Although this was listed as a doggie door for a door we installed it in an outside wall and it worked out great. My husband is very handy so it took some customizing. He used extra wood flooring as the insert and not only did it make it look better it's sturdied it up real well. The magnet flap works great and I love that the door cover can actually stay attached. Do not hesitate this is a great door for the money. We actually purchased two and will be installing the second one shortly.
Good door for price

Let me preface this by saying I am absolutely horrible at cutting.
However, as bad as the cuts I made in my door were, you can't tell now that the pet door is installed. I was worried that the hole I cut would be too big or lopsided and cause problems but the pet door has enough leeway that crooked cuts don't really effect it, as long as they're not obnoxiously crooked.
I imagine that if you actually know how to use power tools, then installing this door would be a breeze.
One thing I really like that I wasn't expecting is that the sliding door to lock the pet door will stay up half way, even if not seated in the notches... there is just enough pressure to keep it up. This is important for me because I wanted a door big enough for my dogs to go through occasionally, but that I could lock with a smaller opening if I want to keep them out of the other room but still allow my cats to go in and out. I thought I'd have to cut notches in the locking door to accomplish this, but I'm pleasantly surprised and happy to say that I don't.
My only two suggestions for improvement for this door are: 1) the instructions specify to make a cut on the little in between pieces at 2/5". This was confusing because inches are measured in 16ths and my math skills aren't that good. If the mm measurement hadn't been in parenthesis, I might have messed it up. 2) this isn't great for paneled doors because there's no way to fill in the panel dips behind the frame. I'll probably use spray foam or something (or just leave it for now since that door needs to be replaced anyway), but thought it would be worth mentioning.
Overall, I'm happy with the door now that I have put the power tools away, and my cats are getting acquainted.

Good door but longer screws are needed

The quality is great as compared to others out there, however, the 2 1/4" metric screws are too short to go through a 2" wall. This is after trimming 1/4" off of the inside trimming. I ended up needing to run to Lowe's and buying 8/32x3" screws as well as a tapping tool to make the screws American since they don't carry 3"metric screws. It was a major pain but I'm glad it's done.
Great door, such a time saver!

Great doggie door! I love this door. It comes with instructions that are easy to read and follow. I love that the cover door clicks into place above the flap which helps eliminate losing it. This may not be an issue for some people but for us it was huge. Our kids for some reason love to misplace our old one that didn't do this. I do with the flap was a bit thicker, I'm not sure if it will work well in the winter to block the cold. But I think if not I can figure something out to help. Much better pricing than other doors and it works just as well. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a door for their pets. It is such a life saver! No more opening and closing the door for the dogs to go in and out continuously. This allows them the freedom to come and go as they please! Give it a try, I don't think you'll be sorry!
Door is nice, just waiting to install

I purchased this door to allow our pets to go between the basement and main living space of our house. While it's rated for outdoor use, we will be using it for indoor spaces. I haven't installed the door yet as we aren't finished with the necessary renovations. I will update my review after we install the door.
In the meantime, I would like to review the door itself. The door is lightweight and sturdy. The flap is heavy so it hangs straight and nicely, but easy to move once the magnetic strips are broken open. My only concern is that the bottom magnet strip doesn't connect to the door strip. The strips on the sides snap together easily but the bottom, while it hovers down and shouldn't be a problem once installed, don't connect directly. I am hoping once installed it might line up accordingly. I feel that this would only be a problem if the door was used on an exterior door where you'd want more of a tight seal. (See picture #3).
So as of now, I think it's a nice door that appears will be easily installed. The template they sent with will be very helpful for the install. Looking forward to trying this door out!
