I liked this soup base very much. Unfortunately, so did my cat. After making soup, I left the package with its "tubes" of soup base on my countertop. The bonita flakes were too much for my cat to resist. I woke up to an empty package, with empty tubes scattered all over and one very happy feline. Next time, I'll keep them in a jar. Nice taste!

I've tried a few brands of Dashi powder and this is by far the best. The others have an overpowering fishiness too them. Shimaya Awase Dashi is more broadly applicable for non-fishy soups for that MSG+Sodium Inosinate taste.
