I love this monopod. The feet are much longer than any other footed monopod I know of, so it's unusually stable when you have the monopod extended to full height. The locking mechanism at the base is quicker and easier to lock into place than the Manfrotto Xpro5, which I also own. Although I love this tripod I'll probably need to return it because the flip locks are extremely stiff. I think people with younger hands will not have a problem opening and closing them but they're going to be too stiff for me to use. All in all, this tripod is a great value.
Update: Since I reviewed this I've tried it out more. I still believe it's a great value but I discovered that the red collar at the base does not stay tight after you've screwed it down. It still provides plenty of drag or resistance but I would not put a heavy full frame DSLR on top of it and then take my hands completely off the camera.
