Key features
- •The world's leading unibody guitar. The one-piece injection moulded technology allows us to not only make the shape more comfortable to hold, but also significantly reduce the use of the glue, yet gives the LAVA ME an excellent acoustic performance.
- •Works on all weather conditions. Woods are more likely to deform in different weather conditions. The Super AirSonic carbon fiber material can adapt to temperatures between -68℉ to 140℉. Humidity from 10% to 90%. No matter if you are in desert or a polar area, the LAVA ME 2 always works for you.
- •Ultra portable. The LAVA ME 2 produces a loud, wide range frequency tone with its 36 inches body. It weights just 3.7 pounds. Even lighter than most of the laptops.
- •The FreeBoost Technology on the L2 pickups uses rear surface of the LAVA ME 2 as a speaker. Turn on the pickups anywhere anytime, you can freely play with reverb, delay, chorus without an amp.
- •Introducing the FlyNeck. The geometry shape of flyneck utilize the parametrization theory to design. According to the different force bearing paints above the neck to optimize playing experience. Fretboard shifting and pressing strings are now more comfortable.

Good guitar, not so good effects
Bryan M.✓ Verified Purchase•November 17, 2023
Just received this guitar and it plays well and seems very sturdy. The effects on their own leave a lot to be desired and are quiet and weak sounding. However they sound good if you plug it into an amp. I've been playing guitar for 40+ years, owned a recording studio, and have been in and produced bands, so I have a trained ear. I was surprised at how tinny and quiet the effects sound using them without an amp. Basically. the effects sound like they're coming from a cell phone speaker. Debating on returning it as I like the fact that this thing theoretically will not warp and would be a great travel guitar to play in the car on road trips, at the beach,or wherever, and it should withstand the conditions being carbon fiber. But the effects are just weak. The reverb tail is a bit long at about 2+ seconds and the length of reverb cannot be adjusted, just the mix of the reverb only. The delay time can be adjusted from as long as a half a second to a slapback, but not the mix of the delay. The delay repeats about 8 times as it fades out, and that cannot be adjusted. The chorus mix can be adjusted only. The percussive mix knob inside the sound oval works with a amp, but you can hardly tell it works on its own. The guitar sounds pretty good on it's own with no effects compared to my Taylor GS mini, but the Taylor has a just a bit more depth. To it's credit, the Lava also has more access on the upper neck as the body starts at fret 16 verses most acoustics starting at the 14th fret. While the effects leave a lot to be desired, it is fun and fills a void no other acoustic can match on it's own. Playability is pretty darn good so I give it 4 stars for the guitar itself, and 2 stars at best for the effects on their own. One has to think Lava is onto something here, and with a bit more volume, truer tone of effects, and a little more ability to tweak the effects, it would reach 5 stars in my eyes and ears. Another plus would be you could go to a gig and plug into a PA and be able to play with effects without having to drag them along. If I had a chance to play it before I bought it, I'd probably have waited to see if they improve upon it.
Fantastic quality

I bought the Lava Me 2 after seeing several reviews of the guitar on YouTube. I initially thought reviewers were over-hyping this thing, and I had planned on sending this thing back if I didn't absolutely love it. It really surprised me. First, it has a real tusq nut and a real tusq saddle. I was expecting some cheap plastic parts but instead the nut is higher quality than the tektoid nut on my Gibson Firebird. The nut is also cut really well. Next, the frets are gorgeous. Not a sharp fret end or a high spot anywhere. They advertise that they put it through a plek machine, and I believe it. The string action is great right out of the box. The tuners seem to be the companies own design and they keep it in tune well. They don't slip and I'm not constantly retuning. I'd prefer Grovers or something similar, but they work well enough. You aren't going to have to worry about them. The strings out of the box are Da'addario 11's. They must have just put them on before shipping because they are obviously brand new. No way it sat around in a warehouse. No need to change them which is rare in a Chinese guitar. I worried about it feeling like a toy. It doesn't. For reference it's about the same size as a 3/4 size strat but obviously thicker. It feels like you are holding an expensive electronic appliance. I know that sounds weird but that's what it reminded me of. The effects are fun. I especially like the chorus. it's just full enough without sounding cheesy. The delay is good but I feel like it needs a longer delay time. The range on the delay is really small. The overall sound of the instrument is really nice. You wouldn't know it was made of carbon fiber. It's got an even string response, it's loud for it's size, and it's fun to play. Doesn't sound like a toy. This thing would be perfect for buskers, travelers, or people like me that are just tired of the same old thing and wanted to try something new. The TL:DR is that this thing is really high quality. Don't let the made in China label scare you. It's definitely a keeper.
Superior! Humidity: NO worries. Temperature: No worries!

I got this little guitar when I worried too much about the dry relative humidity ruining my wood guitars (which it does!). This is made of carbon fiber.
I ordered it off of the floor at an Amazon warehouse in New York where it had been dropped on original sale and box was re-taped (discounted price for this) It arrived in 30° F weather (!) and it was outside at our gate for several hours before I saw it. I immediately opened it and started playing it, with no problems (it was even in tune altho half step down).
It is not affected by relative humidity from 10% to 90%! It isn't affected by temperature from -4°F to 170F! All wood guitars would be destroyed!
The electronics doubles the back of the guitar as a speaker (it's quiet). And you can also plug it into an amp.
The neck is a normal width. And as straight acoustic guitar, the sound is very good.
Carbon fiber solid formed and it comes in several colors. Surprisingly inexpensive.
I love it and am leaving my wood guitars in their cases with moisture sponges to protect the wood from drying damage.

I mainly play electric but dabble in acoustic too. Owned several Martins including D-18 and D-28. Current is Yamaha LL-TA (my favorite) so I know very good acoustic guitars when I play them.
Ordered the touch screen version awhile back and returned it. Not into fiddling with tech stuff on my guitars...especially entering passwords etc. Decided to try this simpler version and WOW!!! What FUN this little featherweight thing is! I have spent more time honing my acoustic skills on this within a few weeks than I have on the others in years. It is just a blast to hold and play and I ordered another one in a different color for different tuning.
Here is the important thing though, you will want to adjust the action. My first one I lowered the saddle, put on .11 strings and nailed it. Friggin' beautiful. The second one I actually needed to lower the nut but that one too was phenomenal after that. Be aware of this if you are considering one. It is easy to do (took me about 20 minutes on each) and the process is even included in the LAVA instructions. As such, this may not be the best choice for beginners but I am loving mine. Wish I had an excuse to buy another one :(

Fantastic value on a carbon fiber guitar!

First let me say that this guitar has the best sound of any carbon fiber guitar I have played, regardless of price. Most of them are harsh sounding, the LAVA ME 2 is very mellow sounding, much closer to a wood guitar. I am very impressed with it.
It is very comfortable to hold and well constructed. It has a lot of bass for it's size.
The electronic effects are cool, the reverb sounds good and adds some depth to the sound.
I only have 3 minor complaints:
1. The tuners are not very good, they don't feel very smooth. LAVA should raise the price by a bit and use Ping or Grover tuners.
2. The case is pretty decent but has no compartment to store picks and a capo. I did find a much better case for it. The Gator GWE-ACOU-3/4 is a perfect fit.
3. The backpack straps on the case should be remove-able. Not everyone will want to use them and there is no way to secure them so they don't get in the way or get caught in baggage handling machinery!
