I bought this red/NIR light panel to treat arthritis in my left knee caused by a severe injury. Then, a relative began using it to thicken hair. I must say, it's worked very well in both instances. The knee pain I was suffering has greatly diminished, as has the lack of flexibility. The stiffness in back of my knee has also improved. I've been able to reduce the pain relievers I take, which is great.

My relative, whose hair was thinning in one spot, has seen a lot of new growth, which is also great and the texture is even better. I'm going to start using it as part of a program to keep my own hair thick and healthy.

This panel is very well built and sturdy, and it's so easy to use. Just plug it in and flip a switch or two. The company recommends placing the device about six inches away from the area you're treating. Flip both switches on, the red and the NIR. If you're treating a superficial area, like the skin on your face, let the light shine on your face (with eyes closed or wearing the goggles that come with the panel) for 3-5 minutes. No more. If you're treating a deeper area, like I treat my knees, let the light shine on that area for up to 10 minutes. You should start at the lower end and work up. And don't make the mistake of thinking more is better. It definitely isn't where red/NIR light is concerned. If you overdo, you could end up with the opposite of what you want.

The key to success with red/NIR light therapy is proper dosing plus consistency. We can take a multi-vitamin irregularly and still maintain our health, but if you want to see results from red/NIR light therapy, you must use the panel every day. Consistency is a must, and give it 90 days to see results.

I don't feel much warmth from this panel, but that's okay. That's normal. After I use it on my knees, however, I do feel a tingling in my knees (also normal) that lets me know it's working. I don't particularly like tingly feelings - actually I hate them - but it doesn't last long.

This panel comes with the hardware to hang it on your bedroom or bathroom door if you choose to do so. I didn't do that because I have a brand new house with beautiful doors, so I've gone with another option (a mask) for treating my face. If you do want to use this for your face, I'm sure it would work wonderfully, however.

I recommend anyone who's serious about red/NIR light therapy, also buy the book THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO RED LIGHT THERAPY by Ari Whitten. That book will tell you more than you probably need to know, and you can buy it right here, on Amazon. You can ever treat the heart and the brain with red/NIR light therapy. All-in-all, there isn't much red/NIR light therapy can't do.

I really enjoy my red/NIR light panel, and I've derived tremendous benefits from it. I think you can, too. I hope so.

Good Aspects: I was pleasantly suprised with the durability of materials. All metal construction and high quality lighted switches on the outside, that makes be believe the same quality is reflected on the inside. The lighted switches are important because one of the two wavelengths is nearly invisible when on. Appears to be built to last. I typically don't see this quality in construction these days. It also works great. In fact I accidentially ordered two instead of one but after seeing how good it is I decided to keep the second one also.
Room for improvement: The design of air vents on all sides but one makes it hard to position without blocking some of them. Since I am not sure if I need to keep them all free or if some of them can be covered during use I have to keep them all free. It would be nice to have some instructions on this.
EFFECTIVENESS: VISION/TENDONS- I ordered this for improving vision for over 40 year olds, I can't say I have noticed any difference in vision, however when pointing it at a badly burned part of my right foot to speed healing I noticed after two days treatment that the chronic plantar fasciitis in that foot went away! It was still present in the untreated left foot. Naturally I started using it on both feet and can happily say it makes all symptoms disappear until I go running again. Unexpected suprise. I also treated my shoulder for some minor bursitis/rotator cuff pain and it took care of that in one treatment. Another suprise.
SCARRING: I also tried it on some large 2-year old burns on my chest and arms from a pressure cooker explosion but can not see any improvement there- actually it looks worse. I will keep trying.
SKIN AGING: I will try it on my 60 year old face and report back

First I'll say I agree with others that say this unit seems to be well made.
But my problem mostly is that the directions for use are very vague. I reached out to the seller but was unable to get any more specific directions like time and distance for exposure for specific concerns that you would need to effectively treat using the red light.
It was a general six inches ,sometimes more for ten minutes tops and I guess experiment? with what would work best for you. That's a clue this is just not that powerful.
I did some research before buying including reading the book that comes up recommended. Actual Red light therapy is much more specific for what you want to treat and would not be very effective for a lot of different concerns simply because this unit just isn't powerful enough for therapeutic grade level of treatment.
But I will say the seller did treat me courteously and resolved the situation for me- which is why I gave four stars- and this unit may be generally effective to a degree for some concerns, I don't know.
But I'm going to eventually buy an actual therapy grade brand of which several are recommended in the book that were researched and tested by the author of the book. More expensive yes but in this case I think you get what you pay for.

After numerous forays into alternative medicine and different treatments (some ending painfully and with lots of money lost), I honestly didn't have much hope for this device. However, a dermatologist I watch on Youtube (Dr. Dray) talked about the benefits of Red Light Therapy, and so I tried this device for 6 months (inconsistently).

I was NOT disappointed! I have not used this consistently (because...read above...I am a fool that has wasted hard earned cash before...why stop now), but bought it for 3 benefits: 1) skin rejuvenation, 2) pain management from a herniated disc and 3) hair growth.

1) Skin Rejuvenation: I don't see a difference, but I don't use it often enough. I like to do the therapy after my morning skincare routine, and I have noticed that my skin is dryer a couple of hours after using the device (maybe my products soak in more...or the device dries them out). This is most noticeable around my eye area.

2) Pain Management: It works! I have a herniated disc in my neck, and when I start exercising the pain can become a nuisance. I literally light this baby up for 15 minutes (red light and NIR)...turn it off for 10...then light up again for 5-10 minutes...and wow. It stops the pain for me. No Tylenol needed.

3) Hair Growth: It works! I have super fine, toddler-like hair (which is so attractive in your 30s) that somehow I lose fistfuls of in the shower. I have tried all the supplements (I get some minor benefits from marine collagen), but this device with the marine collagen is amazing. I went from a fistful of lost hair to a few strands lost.

The issue is with consistency. Yeah, this device works, but human nature is to rebel. If you cannot see yourself fitting this into your routine, then think this one over. Also, I went for a smaller size H300 and regret not getting the larger one. If you are at all lazy like me, the larger one will hit more areas and be a better choice in the long run.

Good
