Great product. I give this a 4 star out 5 reason why is because the speed bag station holes weren't aligning with the (L shaped metal piece) so i had to make extra holes and make sure the that screws were aligning with the holes. not a hard task but it can be for someone else that doesn't know what they are doing or if they don't have the tools. But is definitely a great station. I also got the heavy bag and the speed bag from Amazon the station doesn't inlcude any bags if you was wondering the heavy bag is 70lb comes with chain and everything you need. The speed bag is great all you need is a pump. Really like my set-up
If you are willing to do some upgrades on your own it's not too bad.

My Everlast Heavy Bag Stand Review:"¨
Okay, I have finally got my stand the way I want it. "¨

First off I am not a MMA fighter or boxer. I am just a dude who likes to workout, stay in shape be prepared if someones ego gets in the way of their common sense. "¨

Well Back to the stand. It was easy to put together and did it by myself. I simply put it together with all the fasteners loose and then tightened it down from the base up. I did not need a mallet, the bolts went it easy. I was a mechanic in another life so maybe that gave me an advantage. Like everyone I scrapped the piece of crap swivel and purchased a good one. I also scrapped the piece of crap half inch fiberboard speed bag platform. I built my own by sandwiching a piece of quality 3/4" plywood between two pieces of quality 1/2" in plywood and glued and screwed them together for a nice 1-3/4" heavy platform. I used the piece of shit one that came with it as a template to drill the holes and counter sank for the 3/8 bolt holes with a 1" butterfly bit. I painted it black. Of course this required me to purchase all new mounting hardware."¨

I solved the walking problem by taking two 2" X 12" board with a 3-1/2" slot cut into it. It braces against the wall and does not move. I use snap punches so I probably did not need the brace however it's there just in case. Mine is also on a foam pad that helps prevent it from moving. The brace does not impede the use of the speed bag in any way."¨

I also made a cross out of 1" X 1-1/2" boards to spread the chains on my heavy bag. Depending on the bag you buy it may not be necessary but one problem is the bag hangs
too low and does not swing like it should, you can still move back and forth but I think you lose a lot of important movement practice. But it works okay and is better than nothing for those of us that have a bedroom for a gym.

All in all I am happy with mine now that I corrected the deficiencies. I prefer that Everlast just put the quality into the stand and charge accordingly. It would have saved me a lot of money, time and effort."¨

I hope this review is helpful.
Sturdy

This stand is very sturdy, and not extremely complicated to install if you do it with another person. I had a hard time putting the stand together when I tried to do it by myself because you need one person to hold the screws on one side, while you tighten them on the other side. If you do it alone, it's very complicated to get them at tight as they go, but if you do it with another person, the stand can be put together in 30 minutes - 1 hour.

After the installation is complete, the stand was exactly what I was looking for. Very sturdy and good quality.
A little rough around the edges but very sturdy

ASSEMBLY
It took some serious muscle to put together! The screw holes are not exactly precision cut and there are bound to be minute variations in the bends and welds of the tubing, so the holes don't always line up perfectly for assembly. It takes quite a bit of twisting and flexing force to align everything for assembly - probably a two-man job for most people. I also recommend using real tools for the job instead of the included throw-away flat wrench. But once the bolts are all tightened, the stand rests perfectly flat and feels rock solid, except for a few useless plastic tube-end inserts (one of which fell out after just 20 minutes on the speed bag).

HEAVY BAG
I hung a 100-pound bag on the stand hook without any problems. There is minimal rocking, rattling or movement of the stand even with kicking sessions. The weight posts on the stand can be a tripping hazard. I haven't needed to put on any extra weights to stabilize it, and I am actually thinking about taking them off.

SPEED BAG
The speed bag platform feels a little light but has stood up well to some lengthy speed bag sessions without any issues. Adjustment of the speed bag platform height is a snap. It comes with a cheap but functional swivel, which I am replacing with a $20 upgraded heavy duty swivel. But for beginners the included swivel will work fine!

Overall, I am very happy with the finished product and value.
EXCELLENT STRESS RELIEF!

First of all, this is a big, heavy item. When it arrived I was concerned that the item was either damaged or a "warehouse re-send" because the carton was really beat up. Fortunately, after Amazon traced the item back to it's origin and then opening the carton, it turned out to be just a beat up carton. The item itself was undamaged.

There are a lot of pieces to put together but I was impressed with the orderly, easy to understand instructions. This stand came with all of the hardware necessary and with wrenches to aid in the assembly. You want to make sure that you assemble this bag stand where you're going to use it for several reasons: First, it takes up a large space once assembled (Everlast suggests 4' x 6' with a ceiling height of at least 7'3". But, since you have to move around the pieces during the process, I suggest you give yourself more floor space than that.

It took me about two hours to put it together myself. Everlast recommends two people. (If I had it do over again I'd listen to Everlast!) Also, even though Everlast says that all the tools you need to assemble the thing are included (which is true), you'll want to have a mallet, a socket set, a wrench set and perhaps a small adjustable wrench. There are so many nuts and bolts to fasten that the work will go much faster with the few professional tools that I mentioned. The only snag I ran into during the assembly process was some holes didn't line up properly on one of the base tubes. Luckily, I happen to own a Dremel tool and was able to grind the holes to make it work. (This was really minor, as anyone who has ever put together a mass-produced metal thing with lots of holes can tell you. It's almost expected!)

Okay - the stand is put together! How does it look and how well does it function?

IT LOOKS GREAT! The actual metal stand is very well made and appears to be sturdy. There are 3 posts to add weight plates to keep it stable once the bags are in place. They recommend 75 lbs. of weight. The Mikester recommends more if you got it!

As far as the functionality: This is why I took away a "star" in the rating. Although I enjoy hitting the heavy bag, I LOVE speed bag work. It's the main reason I bought the thing! The speed bag platform is kind of "cheesy" (it's lightweight particle board) and vibrates way too much and the swivel is very cheaply made. As a matter of fact, the swivel broke off after about 5 minutes into my first hard session.

Reading the description of the stand and the reviews when I was first considering this item and, being somewhat familiar with heavy bag/speed bag stands in general, I wasn't too surprised by this. For the money, the metal stand by itself is worth the purchase price. To replace the swivel that broke, I ordered and installed Everlast's Pro Swivel (#4444). If you're buying this stand, save yourself the trouble and order a quality swivel right off the bat. Then just switch it out during assembly.

As for the lightweight speed bag platform: until I can find or build a quality hardwood platform, I placed a 40 lb. bag of sand on top of the platform that the unit came with. This eliminates a good deal of the vibration and aids in the "return" of the speed bag.

All things considered, I'm very pleased with this purchase!
