Works great for digitizing your vhs tapes

Easy to use once you get familiar with the controls. I had a question for tech support and they answered quickly. The digitized vids look exactly like you see on the screen. I have mine connected to my TV so I can easily watch and document the content. After I download to my PC, I rename the file with the content information. Definitly better than sending vids out to be digitized for much more money. Nice!

This was the answer to my problem of boxes of VHS, VHS-C, and Digital 8 tapes. It's simple, it works great, and it isn't expensive.
Of course, you have to have a source player -- VCR or camcorder -- to input into the ClearClick converter. I was delighted to discover that after so many years in storage, my players all worked fine. Once you've solved that problem, the rest is EZ-PZ.
The auto-detect for input signal and the record time controls make this super super easy. And the result is very good mp4 video. I wouldn't go so far as to said that this is "brain dead simple," but if you attend to the input device quality, it really isn't hard to get a quality result.
My only complaint, which is minor, is that there's no battery backup in the ClearClick device, so if you unplug the power source, you do lose your date/time settings. That's not difficult to re-enter, but it does take a few moments.

Screen is tiny but functional. Volume is too low when monitoring the recordings. Easy to use and reliable. Just don't expect to see any improvement on your original tapes or DVDs when backing them up. Definitely a much easier way to save videotapes than screwing around with a PC.

I bought this because it was in the middle price range of all these type machines and it had good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. VERY easy to use. I spent the entire summer digitizing my family vhs tapes from the last 40 years. I digitized over 50 tapes with zero issues. They all came out great on the computer. My one and only issue was the sound on the little machine. It was at times very hard to hear what was going on in the video. Once on the computer though, you could hear just fine.
