The smell isn't bad and it really doesn't stay strong for long. My cats have not touched the computer chair or my son's fabric dresser since spraying. The computer chair is leather and it stays effective that the cats don't touch the chair.

Like, holy ****, I can't believe it worked.
But it did.
Took ~1.5 bottles over the course of a month or two. I never finished the second bottle, since so far the two cats both ignore the new furniture set. We have things for them to claw as alternatives: a small kitty city in a corner and a small super cheap ottoman that I bought intentionally for them. I sprayed a lot more than they recommended at first (probably by about double) but very shortly dialed back to less and less and then none at all. I just saw the bottle and got to thinking: they haven't clawed the furniture ever and we haven't used the spray in near on a year.
I rarely post reviews but this spray more than earned it. The spray does have a gentle scent but one we found pleasant enough.

This stuff is pretty great. It's kept my recently-attracted-to-carpet kitty from scratching, and makes my house smell great while doing so. The rosemary scent is strong enough to keep the kitties away without triggering my allergies. HOWEVER - the spray nozzles on these bottles have been atrocious. Out of the 5 I've used so far, only 1 has actually acted as a spray. The others either don't work at all, or I get more dribble down the side of the bottle and on my hands than on the carpet, and that's with trying just about every angle imaginable using the bottle and the sprayer it came with. I've had to save the one working one and pass it down from each bottle I've gotten. Other than that, this has been a great product.
