Bought this as things were coming up missing around my home. Once the system was hooked up and camera angles adjusted it was like having extra eyes all around my home 24/7. The picture is clear even at night, I am able to record with clarity and am impressed with the motion sensors as while they are sensitive they aren't too sensitive. Highly recommend
Doesn't tell you that you will need a seperate wireless antenna, my old one did not.

One of my cameras goes in and out of night vision. If it keeps up I will return and ask for a new one. Not enough information about cameras and their positions. Bushes and normal activity makes it go off making it annoying so I have to play with it or cut down moving landscape. This is my second Swann unit and overall it is a good value for the price and so far the tech support has been great. I hope I don't have to pay extra for more coverage which they are pushing.
My third Swann system - remains a really good value!

This is my third Swann system - sold house with first one, had connection issue with second system (3250 DVR) that was 7 seven years old so decided to jump on this recent sale. Hooked system up today(10/10/22) and had one aggravating problem - you have to connect a monitor to upload the system and Swann's directions did not mention this anywhere that I saw! After numerous rejects, had to call Swann and hook up a monitor! After that was able to complete installation. Only installed one new camera and was happy to see that my old cameras also worked with the new 4580 DVR but not quite as good as with the 3250 DVR. The new camera, by the way, was definitely sharper than the old. At any rate, I remain a satisfied customer and feel like Swann systems provide a really good value.
Edit: Two days later, my original comments stand however I was disappointed to learn that my Pro 749 PTZ camera cannot be controlled through the current Apt, Swann Security. In general, I have to say I wish I could have stayed with my old apt, Swannview Link - it was easier to use and, of course, allowed me to control my PTZ. Typical progress - you gain a little in one area but give up a lot in another! Oh, well!!!

Solid home surveillance system

Was about to pull the trigger on a $200 home video surveillance system, then I found a recommendation online to go with a swann system. Found this one on Amazon, looked good and the reviews seemed good so I jumped on it. Arrvied quick from Amazon. Noticed immediately that this is a well made, quality system. Nothing seemed "cheap" and it was well packaged, with DVR in one box and sets of 4 cameras in the two other boxes. Dry ran the dvr and a camera in my living room, everything seemed fine. Then I installed the DVR in a closet that has access to the attic, no problem except for the fact that I had to use a wireless access point to connect to the internet. From there I installed the cameras, running the cable through the attic to points outside my home. This is probably the hardest part of the install. I recommend getting a fish tape to help pulling the cables. Once you get the cable outside you can "dry fit" the cameras from the rough to exact locations. Using the Iphone app I could test place the camera and see exactly what I would get. The articulation on the base of each camera takes a little getting used to, but by the time you're on your second camera it's pretty much old hat. Expect to tweak the cameras at least a couple of times after mounting to get the right location. Video is crisp, but no way it's HD. I access the dvr using iOS and Windows apps. Haven't completely figured it out yet, but seems pretty easy to configure. I have to find the sweet spot on notifications though. It hits my iphone way too much when the leaves on a tree move or the dog goes outside. Bottom line is that this is a solid system, easily worth the $300 cost. And it looks like it'll do the job for a long time.
