After the reduced supply at the coop market for brewers/nutritional yeast, I was forced to shop online for this staple product in our house. After long investigation I finally chose Lewis Labs. At first arrival, it was not the flakey flakes I was used to, but an overall even grained mini-flake. After I ran out of the nutritional yeast I had been buying at my natural foods store, I didn't want to buy it any more during the virus crisis, because it was sold from open bins that I no longer trusted. My mom introduced this to me decades ago. It barely has that "yeasty" taste or scent and doesn't cake up like some flake-type yeasts. There aren't really flakes - its more of a granular look and texture. Since the brand has been around for. a long time, this is why I trust the product the most. I believe the quality is exactly to the standards I need and the price is just tight too. If you chose this product, you will be glad you did.

Unlike most yeast flakes on the market, this one is not fortified with the fake synthetic Vitamin B that gives your urine a scary color of Neon-light yellow. Instead of taking B pills, I just eat this product as my B supplement.
I like the taste too. Kind of tastes like a bunch of healthy nuts that have been ground to a powder. Sometimes I just throw a scoop in my mouth and let it melt. Very easy to dissolve in any liquid. I've put it in plain water, juice, smoothie, and worked well with all. It adds a nice thickness. I've tried different brands, but since I found this one, I've been buying this brand only. Yes I recommend it.

I've been buying this for years and love it. It tastes good (like nuts) and mixes easily. I chose it because it ISN'T fortified, so I can give it to my cats also. I mix it in their wet food and they like it.
My husband and I have found that it really does repel fleas. (Fleas are impossible to completely avoid if you live in Texas.) If any do bite, the lesion is a tiny, flat, pink dot that doesn't itch very much and disappears fast. Applying hot water or hot air from a blow dryer, to any bites, also helps a lot. But the yeast helps prevent bites, because fleas dislike the smell of its thiamine (B1).
We treat our cats with Revolution and also feed them a little yeast every day.
Incidentally, we buy NOW peppermint oil on Amazon and make peppermint lotion. That works great for repelling mosquitoes!
