By allowing the wires to pass through the RJ45, you can insure the correct wiring configuration. Especially good when installing IP cameras in broad daylight and the striped wires can get mixed. I trim the wires even and then slightly pull them into the body to ensure that the connector is not prevented from fully seating.

These connectors are so much easier to work with than non-pass-through variety. I've been making up custom cables to add network connectivity to each room in a small school. I started using standard connectors, but it was such trouble that I put things on hold for two days until these pass-through connectors arrived. Using them I was able to finish quickly.
I will mention one issue I've had with them, but it could be my crimping tool. I've had a little difficulty in getting the RJ45 pins to penetrate and make a solid connection with the individual wires, as evidenced by a trouble light on the cable tester after I finish each one. Putting it back in the crimping tool and applying extreme pressure to the handle has always fixed the problem.
