I chose this Smart Home Flex Hardwire because our electrician installer recommended not using a NEMA plug and doing hardwire.
I chose ChargePoint over other options because (there are too many different apps and user experiences when it comes to EV charging and) ChargePoint is the most widely used for public charging.
The design is fantastic with a sturdy charging cable hanger.
The charging cable is a great length.
The charging speed being Level 2 EVSE is significantly faster than trickle.
I've installed inside my garage but see the value in outdoor capability.
It is a bit more expensive than the competition.

The reason I knocked one star off of the overall rating is the instructions that come with charger. If you are going to install this yourself as I did DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use the installer APP even though it says to, it will cause you to have problems setting up your personal user APP and account. Only a certified electrician or charger installer needs to use that APP, it doesn't say that the owner doesn't need to use this and if you do you will have to create or use another email address other than the one you used for the installer APP. The installer doesn't really have to use it either. Soo as long as you don't make the aforementioned mistake setup will be relatively easy and charger will work fine.

we installed this charger in garage so we could charge 2 cars parked in. The cord length is good for doing that. The charger is very steady. We did hardwire installation. Its working without any problem, app is good too. There is possibility of $250 rebate for this charger from state of NJ. Shipping was super fast- next day.
Easy to convert to hard wired

Local code requires a GFI breaker for a 240 outlet, but all these plug in chargers also have ground fault protection. When both things have that it can trip the circuit continuously. Thankfully this unit was very easy for our electrician to convert to hardwired setup. Now that it's hardwired it has been working great.

This charger was one of the easiest "home improvement" projects ever. Nothing to be intimidated about, the product ships with everything you need except an inlet fitting on the electrical inlet, which of course depends on the type of conduit to which you are running it. I had a 70 foot underground cable to run which meant renting a trencher, but that isn't the charger's fault. All the connections are color coded and use connectors that are literally flip it up, put in the wire, flip it down, done. The app is a strong point, as it found the charger and connected it to my home wifi without jumping through hoops, and allowed me to easily select the maximum current for my install and even gave me labels for every conceivable setup. It passed inspection. It worked the first time I plugged it in. It stopped when the battery was full, and I was able to check progress on the app. It finished almost exactly at the time it predicted. Chargepoint is the way to go.
