NOTE: A lot of people in the reviews are saying that they are failing to decompress and remain flat even after being removed from the vacuum packaging.. Let me first say that is an issue but it can easily be solved. The easiest way to get the foam panels to fully decompress is to place about 8-10 at a time in a dryer and put it on the lowest heat setting for about 10-15 minutes. Another method is to wait about a week. Most will decompress in a few house just sitting out. But you will have some that will take a week or longer. The dryer is a quick fix. You can also kinda bend the stubborn ones back in forth to break the internal suction that's keeping them compressed. But again, I recommend using the dryer on the lowest heat setting. The dryer is way easier and quicker.

Some people in the reviews are also saying they are cut unevenly. As for me, I see absolutely ZERO defects out of the 24 panels I purchased. I will be buying more in the future.

PERFORMANCE: Well, these are not professional grade sound deadening panels. So do not expect them to be perfect. However, they do work and they work pretty good. The room I put them in has a hardwood floor, so there is a lot of echo. The room is only 120 sq ft. I have a throw rug 5x7 ft on the floor and the walls are painted drywall. So echos are a major issue. After installing 24 of these panels which of course is 24 sq ft or only about 4% of the hard reflective surfaces in the room, the echo was reduced by about 20-25%. My plans are to buy more of these panels. I assume with a total of 120 panels, I can reduce the echo to an amount it's not very noticeable while recording YouTube videos.

As far as attaching these to my wall, I used "Heavy Duty Gorilla Spray Adhesive". But please don't mistake the glue for hairspray. Spray a light to medium coat on each surface, wait 1-2 minutes and apply together. They will not fall off.

Some people are trying to use double sided tape or double sided foam sticky things as Amazon is saying are frequently purchased together. Although I have not tried them, I seriously doubt they will work. If you don't want to spray glue on your walls you can glue them to cardboard panels and then use the double sided foam sticky things to connect the cardboard panels to the wall. I am reasonably sure that would work just fine.

CONCLUSION: Assuming the price remains the same or less, I consider these to be a good value.

Yes, they come air sealed and flat, I separated them and left them out for 24 hours and about 75% of them fluffed out to normal. The other ones fluffed out after throwing them in the dryer for 40 minutes. Easy peazy. People leaving bad reviews for this are doing so undeservedly.

However, there are some reasons to leave a bad review. One is the smell. These stink. Like a mixture of a chemical smell, but also like my dog's butt glands. But my OCD drive me to mostly hate the fact that 3 of the packs contained 11.75 x 11.75 panels, and one of them contained panels that measured 12x12 exactly. So they don't line up exactly on my wall. (See picture).

But will I buy more? Yes. They work. They dampen the reverb of my all brick and concrete studio.

Overall good, quality material, better than some I've seen on here. I recommend these over the 1 inch style. All but 5 of them regained their structure without having to rinse them with some water. For the other ones I just used a hair blower on some.

These are pretty stylish compared to the egg crate type. DO NOT PUT THESE ON A WALL. They will stick too well and you'll need to spend hours removing all the little bits. I definitely recommend hanging in a frame, and there are lots to choose from. They do a great job of removing echo in recordings. These are not going to stop sound from leaving a room. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand how these work.

I love the shape of these pads, it's way better than having egg carton shaped ones on your way that look cheap. I would like to say that no double sided tape will stick to these, none. So you have to put a strong glue between the tape and the pad to make sure they lock together. I put 6 up at night and by the next morning they were all on the floor. I used a strong glue and now they are locked in. These pads come shrunk down to a size of a piece of paper but I assure you they all go back to their original form, just give them time. I rated value for them high because for $6 each it's a lot for a piece of foam. If they were cheaper I would buy a lot more. The sound quality absorption is pretty good, but unless you cover the entire wall with these you will get slight echo return on exposed drywall. For now, these are the best you can find on Amazon.
