Got this to seal off a room without a door to save on heating and cooling. It installs fine (albeit with a little bit of crawling around); however, the trim around the doorway can be a little tricky to work with and really demands a better solution than adhesive tape. And the adhesive seems like it won't last too long regardless as it has already come temporarily unstuck in a couple spots over two months use. But I appreciate the velcro to allow for quick removal--it probably sticks better than the tape, honestly.

The magnetic entry slit works pretty well--just a few pea-sized gaps--although it isn't super convenient to open since there's nothing to grasp. I've thought about adding some handles to the two sides of the curtain. Otherwise, you have to use an awkward fingering technique to split the two sides open. It closes very effectively, though; I almost never have to encourage it shut, and if so, it's only like the bottom-most magnet. You can just give it a kick and it goes *ploop* back together.

The effectiveness of the insulation leaves something to be desired, though. Or maybe my expectations were too high? Of course some heat transfer occurs through the uninsulated interior walls. But with an inside/outside temperature difference of 40F, I only get about 10F difference between the heated and unheated rooms. And this is with totally sealed registers (vents). Also, a remarkable amount of air pressure is placed upon this curtain, such that I'm certain that will be the reason it comes down eventually.

But for now, this product seems to be working effectively enough and is slightly more convenient than nailing a blanket to your open doorway.

This is my second one I've purchased. I originally got the brown one which worked fine. I got this white one that's supposedly new and it does not work well. Installed it correctly but the magnets just don't touch! They don't want to touch even if you bring it manually close together. Really sucks because this leaves a huge gap for air to flow out. And this curtain is really weak. If I open the garage door and let air in, it blows right through this curtain! That didn't happen with the brown one I ordered last year. So the quality is not the same.

Edit: the seller contacted me and asked me how to make things right. They offered me a new one free of charge or a full refund. That's really nice of them. I see they take their business serious and this might've been a defective one. Anyhow, I am changing it from 1 to 4 stars for the good customer service. Thank you

Great to have if you like fresh outside air with No Flies in the house.
This one lasted three years until the in-laws visited with their Dumb dog that tried to scratch thru it instead of just walking thru it.

It is very useful, but I recommend it only for outdoor areas. It leaves the interior space a bit stuffy.

I built myself a 12' x 32' shop with power tools on one end and work benches on the other. I framed a 48" x 82" opening in the middle of my shop and used plastic to construct a wall for a divider.
This magnetic door is perfect second one purchased and I bought an extra. I have an A/C unit and heater on the bench side , no need to heat or cool the power tool side since I am only over there long enough to cut a board or drill a hole. My cats and dog have no trouble going thru it. Cut my heating and cooling time and cost in half.
