I got this for a cat with some health issues and probably some arthritis. I put it on my bed in a corner. IN teh evening I turn it on and my cat which usually right agains't me, sprawls out on this. She really enjoys it. The adjustments of temperature are good and the timer is pretty good. It does have a jump from 2 hours, to 4 and then to 8. I would like one in the 5 or 6 range. You need to read elsewhere to see what temperature is good for your type of pet. My big complaint is buttons. They require pressure on spots. In the dark, there is no way to find the spots. There are no lights for those spots and the feel is smooth. It seems safe enough, but who knows. The power cord is covered. A large dog could easily chew through it, but I would think it would have done that with house cords if he wanted to.

Was skeptical at first because there were so many pads to choose from , but I must say that the pad works great and the price is very affordable. I live in a cold state during the winter and I am a huge animal lover. I bought this for a stray cat. I set him up with a space in my garage. I bought a space heater which helped with the cold but not enough so I purchased this pad and put it under his blankets and that sealed the deal. This is a very nice and well working pad, well priced, well packaged and a kindergarten could use it. Don't hesitate to buy this pad, you will not be disappointed. Thank you very much 😊

We have actually bought 4 of these! 2 for our house and 2 for our Daughter and SIL. One of our rescues has 2 pins and 9 screws in her femur and will not take the joint supplements the vet recommended to ward of stiffness and pain. She is too young for pain meds yet so we got this hoping it would help. She has been SO MUCH more patient with her house mates, moving better, and overall MUCH happier and better quality of life with this product!
Daughter uses it for an outdoor cat as well (in a covered area) and it works great! It is out of the elements so not sure how it would do that way. Overall we are super happy and multiple cats can use it at a time! Or one very large cat can stretch all the way out.

UPDATE SINCE MY FIRST REVIEW: When the company saw my review they reached out to me immediately and offered to either replace the pad or refund my money. I do like the heating pad so I told them to send me another one. I'm going to try and reinforce the cord with something that is chew proof to keep this from happening again. The company handled it great, and they said they would notify the factory so an improvement could be made, so I appreciate that!
It's a good heating pad, but I'm so disappointed to see my little dog (who is not a chewer at all!) just chewed through the cord. Thank God she and her 7 puppies are okay, but I'm now hesitant to use a heating pad every again. It could have killed her. So don't trust that the cord is chew resistant. I feel like I wasted $40. The cord was tucked out of her sight in the whelping box too so it wasn't anything I worried about happening, but then I noticed the pad had stopped working then I noticed the cord.
