I love this tree base. Not only is it pretty, it's very sturdy. A bit expensive.
Just get it

If you would like your Christmas tree to spin, don't even bother with anything else. This tree stand is amazing. I have a balsam hill 6½ ft tree and it worked phenomenally. I did have to switch the tree connector part which they provide the other size and it is a simple two screws.
It works

I received this tree stand after Christmas. I took my 9 foot artificial tree down and put it back up on the new stand. Worked perfectly. Being I only used it for a few minutes, I plan on giving an update review in November when I put the tree back up.
Just Perfect - Fits larger Pole

UPDATE: I put my tree up and couldn't be happier! It rotates smoothly and so far, no noise to speak of. Seems really sturdy, the tree looks great!!! Highly recommend.

I got a new 9 foot tree last year and the pole was too large for my rotating stand. I have been looking for a new rotating stand all year, but apparently I don't know how to measure the pole! I used a measuring tape and it looked like it is 2" across. The largest adapter for the many tree stands I looked at was 1.75" and I was disappointed. However, in reading reviews for this one, people said it had an adapter for a larger pole so I took a chance and ordered it.

When it came today, I ripped it open and grabbed the adapters and headed to the garage with the 1.75 praying it would fit, and guess what? It was too large!! So I grabbed the 1.5" and it fits perfectly! (I did have to "twist" it over the spot where the crimped section is, and then it slid up the rest of the way easily. ) I could have saved a lot of trouble had I just measured the diameter and divided by pii, it comes out to 1.55, so lesson learned!

In reading some of the reviews people mentioned it was "noisy" so I plugged it in and it is very quiet, at least so far. I will be putting my tree up on Thanksgiving, I will update this if a problem develops.

I got the "gold" color because it was cheaper, although I wasn't sure I would like it. Well, I love it, it doesn't look cheap or garish, I think it will be perfect and I will no longer use a tree skirt because it will look great as is.

Knowing that I could have used any stand with a 1.5" adapter made me stop and think if I needed this more expensive stand, still time to return it if I want to. But then I realized it holds up to 120 pounds and is very sturdy, the others did not look nearly as sturdy with 4 small plastic legs for support as opposed to this wide metal base. My original one also has a wide base, and my tree has always been very secure, even with toddlers and dogs bumping and tugging on it. So, I am happily going to keep this stand, I plan on it lasting for years of enjoyment for the entire family!!!!
I came to the reviews for an answer...

I was having stability issues, so I thought I would see what others had done.

Here is the REAL DEAL. I get a kick out of all the posters that do not understand the difference between "circumference" and "diameter". I even read one review that said to divide by "pie", that made me laugh. Yes, I know it is pi, that's why I was laughing, probably at you.

The ultimate problem is that the well that your pole is going into is approximately 6" deep and 2" wide. The adapter rings that come with the base hold the pole at about the 6" point. They only support a depth in that well of about 1 1/2". And the lower portion inserted into the well isn't supported like the adapter rings. This allows a fulcrum effect 6" from the base of the tree.

A person like me happens to have a 1 1/4" tree pole. Yes, I measured it with a digital micrometer. The adapter plate works well, but the SLOP at the bottom of the well has to be taken up. My intention is to create an adapter that supports an outside diameter of the well (all the way to the bottom) and also supports my tree's pole diameter of 1/1/4". I will 3D print this adapter and let you all know the results. I am confident in this solution.

I measured the motor noise with an SPL, instead of saying it was quiet, for those that are informed. My background noise with the unit off was 45.4 dB. With the unit on, at a distance of only 1 foot, I measured 46.3 dB! Granted, this unit is just the base right now, as I have to create a well adapter that I trust before placing a 9 foot tree into a stand that rotates this gravity-driven weapon. Maybe it will be louder under load. We will see.

5-Stars Overall, because the company knows people need an adapter, but provide a less-than-adequate adapter.(edited from 4 to 5)
5-Stars Easy to assemble, because I peeled the bubble wrap and plugged it in.
5-Stars for Value of money, I simply didn't have a reason to de-rate this category.
5-Stars for Sturdiness, I simply didn't have a reason to de-rate this category.

Edit: I didn't care for my tree I bought for this stand, so I got a different one. The new tree has a taper at the bottom of the pole it fits into a center taper in the well. The old tree's pole was squared off. It turns out, down in the well, there is a receptacle for tapered poles to keep it in the center of the well. This base is super steady now.
