Works great, well-designed, sturdy, but the assembly and installation instructions are terrible.

Works great, well-designed, sturdy, but the assembly and installation instructions are terrible. There is a paper manual and an online video. Both have numerous errors. The paper manual gives dimensions in centimeters (but labels them inches), so divide by 2.5 to get inches. It references clockwise and counter-clockwise but doesn't tell you which end to look at when making that determination. The video instructions have similar problems. There's an online video on YouTube showing a guy assembling it and installing it, which is better than either of the official instructions. If you are handy and used to fixing and building stuff, it's a great bargain. But be prepared for frustration, and having to re-do certain sections since you didn't assemble it correctly the first time. I can provide a corrected installation manual on request.
Great value. Good ROI expected.

Overall, it's a very good value. Does the job for a much lower price than other options that have skyrocketed in price due to the devastating inflation over the last couple of years. Instructions were quite well done. With the 13 footer, you must preplan & have an area large enough to assemble this retractable shade. The only "parts quality" issue I have is w/ the roller sections. They were not "milled" to tight standards/tolerances so that particular assembly has a bit of a bend at one joint and makes the roller less uniformly straight. It does the job I wanted - shade some windows on the house's west side. It won't hold up in very strong wind so, winds must always be considered when extending it. It replaced a more robust & much more expensive retractable shade that lasted over a decade. It should prove to be good ROI - very reasonable price & a few hours for assembly & functional (for an unknown number of years - even a couple makes it a great choice).
Mucho más simple de ensamblar que las versiones de 2020

Más simple de montar y ensamblar que su versión de 2020, solo que la calidad de materiales se ve una baja. Esperemos resista en comparación con los modelos anteriores
Not the sturdiest thing I have ever seen

I admit I bought this based on price. Up here in the great northwest we get long summer days and cold wet winters, so I figured no matter the price a retractable awning is not going to last long time. The Sunsetter brand costs close to $1000. I figure I can replace this four times and still be money ahead.
The awning is reasonably straight forward to assemble and install, although the instructions are pretty poorly written and illustrated. I did make one error that required removing the awning, fixing the error and reinstalling. This cost about an hour and a half. Plan on having a helper; several steps are almost impossible alone.
The unit works pretty well and looks ok. It is clearly downscale from some of the more expensive units, but for the price I think its great. It shades my deck nicely from the afternoon sun.
Its good enough that I think I will buy a companion on for a patio that could also use some shade. Having assembled one, I think I can assemble and install one in about three hours.

Awesome Awing FOR THE PRICE

Not sure what everyone is talking about with the installation instructions. I'm an accountant not known for my gifted mechanical ability and I figured it out pretty easily. For the price this thing is awesome. I guess I wouldn't put it out in a strong wind, nor would I with any other awnings. There is somewhat of a dip in the fabric as I have the pitch about as flat as I can get it, adjusting the pitch is very easy and only takes a socket set. Anyhow, rain does collect on mine rather than shed off, but that, I believe, is only a function of the pitch I have it at. I installed on a lake bar about 7' high off the ground [when the optimal height for install is listed at 13']. Hardware is good, install on the building was fairly simple once the awing is together.
