We'll have to see how the edge holds up over time compared to the Whusthoff knives we have, but so far, it holds up very well in comparison to the much more expensive brands. I was afraid it would feel cheap, but feels great and as solid as most Henkels and Whusthof models. Seem to hone easily as well.

It's sturdy and solid enough that it feels like a solid knife when you hold it (compared to the cheap one I had before). The weight feels well distributed. I haven't used a pricey knife so I can't compare with it, but this knife is definitely an upgrade from the Walmart knife I had before, which I used for multiple years with the help of a good sharpener. I have a feeling that I can use this knife for twice that long sharpening it at regular intervals.
