Infrared - means it is high powered electric

I got this for my tenants and had to also be sure to get a high powered extension cord. Color is great. Seems to work well!
Good, not great.

Ok so I love electric grills. Reality is you can get a great steak with flavor if seasoned correctly. There is no real danger of exploding gas and convenient. I would recommend also having a Weber Charcoal as well for special occasions. Now to the review"¦
This is good and provides a great steak. Only issue is that it does not heat up fast and has no internal insulation on the inside so you lose lots of heat(as others have stated.) My Weber electric kicked the bucket after 6 years and simply did not want to spend the money. I like the porcelain grates though they use the heating element for securing them. Seems like that could become a failure point over time after many cleanings. Nice thing is this can use a 15 amp circuit which is typically outdoors. The cover is also pretty good.
I would recommend letting it heat on high for about 30 minutes before cooking and allowing meat to cook longer as this loses heat quickly. Otherwise decent product and worth $200 or so.

Great little grill

I really like this grill. It does a great job! Only issue I have had is it doesn't heat up as high as thought it would. Thermostat capable of going to 550 but I can never get it anywhere past 400. And as soon as you open the lid the temp instantly drops 150°. So you basically have to put it on the 5 setting every time.
Excellent grill

I have never owned an electric grill so I was a little reluctant on how my food would turn out. I am very pleased after a few grill times of some chicken breasts it turned out better than an actual propane grill that I was using my food has been very juicy it has nice grill marks and this is very easy to clean, it's a nice addition to my balcony, very nice product. I did have to run an extension cord and I know they don't recommend it but if you get the right gauge of an extension cord it works perfect so make sure you read the directions and they tell you what gauge to get. I never knew there were different gauges for extension cords but it was an easy find at the local hardware store.
I love my new Red grill!!!

Our stupid condo association decided that they would outlaw gas grills, and gave us all a couple of weeks to convert.
I've had a Coleman camping grill that I have used for years and it is awesome. Runs on the little propane tanks, and gets really really hot. But, alas, it needed to be hidden so that an electric grill could take its place.
The Char- Broil is a huge pain in the you know what to put together. Seriously, real grills are always a pain, but this one is really special with the hoops it makes you jump through. But"¦.
Once you get it together"¦It still sucks"¦takes forever to heat up, and if your extension cord isn't rated high enough, the cord will trip either the internal fuse or your fuse box.
Took 5 times before it got over 400 degrees"¦it now will get to 450, but you have to do it right off the bat, and don't you dare touch it our lift the lid or you're doomed.
I really want to like this grill, but it is just weak and sad, but really good looking"¦so I guess I'll keep trying.
I hate bad reviews, so take this one as you will"¦
