I have just finished preparing this vanilla extract for a 6 month soak. The kit is so easy to understand. Slicing open the included Madagascar vanilla beans brings an incredible aroma. I don't even want to throw the package away just so I can open and smell it later!
After attaching the snap lid to the included bottle and dropping in the beans, I poured in almost a cup of Svedka vodka. Just an occasional shake of the bottle is all I have left to do. I anticipate this will be the best vanilla extract I have ever used. I also see this being a great holiday gift too.

I haven't used the product yet, it's a gift for Christmas. But my sister has and she said it comes with a bottle and vanilla beans. You open the vanilla pods, scrape out the vanilla beans, put them in the jar and fill the jar with vodka. Let it sit for 6 months, swishing the bottle gently once a week, and you have the best tasting vanilla.

I just love this! The bottle is great and so are the vanilla beans. I was going to buy bulk beans and bottles but buying this saves at least $1 per bottle and it comes already labeled super cute.
I bought top shelf vodka and did not cut the beans. If you want quality extract, use quality vodka. I did not cut the beans because the beans can be used in baking and as I use them for baking I will replace them and as well continue to add more vodka. If you look up this recipe on the internet, it does not expire and you can just continue to use the beans and extract by just adding more. I store the bottle next to my coffee and just give it a shake once a day.
