I didn't read a ton about these before purchasing. I think this product is good- and I am glad I bought it. However I think from what I have gathered since, countertop ice makers aren't as perfect as we would like. You have to get the ice out after it is made, or it just melts and then you keep waiting for more. Also, when you get the ice out and put it in the freezer, it is wet (which I know sounds silly) but it refreezes at a lower temp in your freezer and becomes a clump. I keep an ice pick and scoop in the container I dump into the freezer. It would be more annoying if that wasn't there. It is what it is. If you need ice- it works.

Needs emptied about every 2 hrs. Ice is softer than regular freezer and not enough for a party but great for two people on a regular day. We bag it and put it into our freezer because our refrigerator ice making went out for the 4th time in less than 4 yrs. This will work for us since we will not fix it again. Great for the money. Looks nice on my kitchen counter

Definitely need alot more water with how I use this thing but I love it. The quality of ice is good once it starts going it seems to make it at a decent rate. A full basket can fill my thermos with ice and it's so simple to get it going.
And as long as it's on ice stays solid. it is a little loud for me being used in my room so I do have to turn it off at night.
