When these arrive, they are collapsed. The three posts are all lined up next to each other which allows the circles (also all lined up together) to drop down against them. The posts are attached to the rings with these spring loaded loops that give enough tension to sort of hold them in the desired position. So you have to first rotate the posts around the circles to spread them apart, then push the circles for the lower two levels down into the desired heights. It's tricky to do this correctly and easy to end up with a cattywampus mess. The posts move freely around the circles, so it's hard to keep them in the right position while you fix the circle heights. But adjusting it once you've got it separated is not too difficult. The whole thing is very light weight, which makes it questionable on how sturdy it can be compared to metal cages. They're pretty short. I thought I wanted smaller ones, but I realized once I put them in that I probably needed more height. Some of my tomatoes had gotten quite a bit more leggy than I realized.

So, being collapsible and lightweight is a plus for storage in the off season, but you sacrifice some structural integrity. I'll have to see if these stand up to my rapidly growing tomatoes. The set does come with watering spikes (haven't tried those out yet as my plants are in the ground and not a pot), as well as little clips the attach stems to the cage. The clips are definitely just the tiny hinged claw clips you can use in your hair. I laughed when I saw them and decided to set some aside for personal use. They do the trick, though, and are gentle on the stems. They give you a ton of them.

I'm torn about how I feel about the cages. They were made for use in pots which would provide a little extra support. I'm not using them as advertised. So, on the one hand, they're a little wimpy, but on the other hand they'll probably get the job done at least for awhile and will be nice and easy to store in the garage when the season is over. I don't know who I'm kidding. It's too hot here for tomatoes, but I'm trying anyway.

I like the simplistic way this product can be put together. Anyone can just follow the pictures and do it 😉

I am very happy with this purchase. I have been shopping these for a year and this is by far my best purchase yet. Although the bottom ring is a little small and tight to fit around existing plants, it's a great piece. I recommend you put these in when you first transplant your smaller plants, but even if not you can adjust the rings so easily to get around the existing plant limbs. It is incredibly easy to set these up and adjust them. Not only that, the color is amazing. It basically disappears into the plant you can't even see that it's there. I highly recommend these.

These exceeded my expectations. They are adjustable, they look nice in a pot, and I thought a great value. I will buy more next year during planting season.
